I don’t believe we’d be so stupid to let Eze go at this point in time, especially to a club like Spuds. We need him, and no pressure to sell, unless a proper fee that would allow us to replace him comfortably. He’s a decent bloke and hope he's not phased by those money men not interested in his career just their own god damn pockets.

This is all very well but realistically what's the point of being in the precious Premier League? We're unlikely to ever finish higher than 8th/9th and all we are is a scouting system for richer clubs. We've been an established PL team for years, won the FA Cup and got into Europe and we're still skint with a crap stadium.
The chances of progressing when our best players get picked off at will are virtually zero and quite honestly I'm tired of the whole circus; clubs hundreds of millions in debt can spend hundreds of millions more with no problem.
Disagree all you like but this league isn't set up to be competitive; it just makes rich people richer. I know Leicester had a freak season but does anyone seriously believe that could happen to us?
The only solution I can see is for the money clubs to piss off into their Euro Super League and play exhibition games every week while the rest of us get on with it.

We are in the group of teams that do well and are ripe for big clubs to pinch players, Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton all lose their best players. I cant see it ever changing.

Very little to disagree with, the only way to make it competitive would be instead of FPP a maximum amount regardless of any sales can be spent over a rolling three year period.

That would help and so would a wage cap like the NFL. If a club choose to pay one player 50% of their pay budget that's up to them.
Neither he nor Guehi is going to sign a new contract, and clearly we aren't buying until we sell. We cannot sleepwalk into a position next summer where Guehi and Glasner are out of contract, Eze has 1 year to go so loses half his value, and half of Europe want Wharton. We'd basically rip the spine of the team out in one go. We'd be where Brentford are right now, and maybe with less cash.
Like it or not, if Eze and Guehi are both still here on January 31st 2026, we are f***ed. We are under pressure.
Eze has been in play since it was clear from Parish's interview last season that the club was almost inviting bids.
This is the reality for all but the top clubs in trying to retain exceptional players .
For fans of a certain vintage (i.e old) he's the archetypal Spurs player.
Gifted, capable of brilliance but with spells of inconsistency which title contenders try and minimise in their players.
From Palace's standpoint, if he does leave we will still have a good structure, organisation and talented players in our team.
But we will miss his special moments which turn games.
I doubt we'd have won the FA Cup without his special moments.
We can't replace him like for like ( similar to Olise), but Sarr with a different profile of player showed it's possible to pose alternative threats.

To me the biggèst surprise is how shocked some people are. If you look at the history of the club we have always sold our best players on. For an example Kenny Samson, Ian Wright, Peter Nicolas, Nigel Martyn, Chris Armstrong, Clive Allen etc the list is endless.All have gone for either money (greed) or ambition
Yes it's disappointing when we lose players but others will come along to take thier place. I think Eze is great but inconsistent and perhaps that why a top 4 side hasn't bid for him. Going to spurs seems like a sideways move bearing in mind he may play more games in europe with us this season then with spurs but money talks as usual

I think the club would not let him leave without someone lined up. Maybe the guy from Liecester or we swap Guehi for Elliot and buy Diomonde. Both seem good options. In reality only SP & OG know whats going on and we have to trust them to get the best deal for the club

We all know we will loose the two. It's just the season has started this should have all been done months ago.
Well, we spent £65m on Nketiah, Riad and Franca in the last 2 years...
Three years ago we spent £45m and brought in £5m. Two years ago we spent £60m and brought in £0. Last year we brought in £100m odd but spent £90m. This year we've brought in nothing.
As it stands, Brighton brought in more money from selling Caicedo than we've brought in over 4 summers.

Clubs like spurs can carry large debt because of the assets i.e value of players, ground supporter base etc. as long as thier value exceeds the debt then they can operate. My point about money looks was more aimed at players in general not just Eze. If spurs are going to offer maybe £200,00 per week then he will go as fast as his legs will take him
