Eze to spurs?

It’s never a case of can’t or won’t happen but I would be surprised if anyone wants to pay the get out. He is brilliant at times we all know that , but his overall game has question marks. At the same time Eze, having agreed the get out, and having two more years on his contract isn’t likely to push for a move that the club are bound to oppose. Regardless he is a player that works really well for Palace, but we didn’t have to Pay £68.5 mill for him.

Eze won’t be going to Spurs - you and Spurs can forget that..!!

Arsenal are the only fox in the hen house ATM - but reports suggest won’t they meet the release clause valuation.

They’re talking about a lower fee and structured payment agreement - Parish won’t accept that would want minimum of £60M up front. !!

Question I have is that Eze is 27 now and let’s be honest up until the last couple months of last season he was average at best - so is it time to cash in..?? Anyone remember the woeful pen to go 3-0 up at City away..??

Makes me laugh when I keep reading reports he will sort Arsenals left sided problem - he ain’t a left winger he’s a “10” that plays on the left in our/OG’s system..!!

Jury is out for me - one minute I’m thinking cash in now and the next difficult to replace if he can consistently deliver he’s form over the last 2 months of the season.

Time will tell..!!

I think the woeful pen was against Newcastle away to get back to 1-1
The 3-0 moment at City was a marginal offside that VAR disallowed

It's been reported that Palace will only sell at the release clause price and no lower.

Fee to be paid in three installments

Love him as i do. £60/68m for a 27 year old is good business.

We've shown with Sarr that there is good value out there.

Replace with Guessand
I agree, Eze had a great last third of the season and scored some big goals for us, one of them the biggest of them all and he’ll be our hero and legend forever more.
But let’s not forget for a large part of last season and previous seasons, he could be pretty average and you’d hardly notice him in some games. Okay a bit like Wilf that odd flash of brilliance every now and then was worth the wait, but like you say, if we can sell him for the premium price while we’ve got the chance and replace him with a snip like Sarr ended up to be, then everyone’s a winner

Good summary and agree all round.

Love him to bits and his place in our history is cemented however selling him at a high price, as a mercurial talent and at his age, would not be the worst bit of business.

I hope he stays but there's some logic in the above so long as we get a replacement(s) in.

Sarr definitely ended up softening the blow of losing Olise, but selling a player is the easy part I suppose, finding a replacement is another matter, especially now the dougster has left, but for 68 million it’ll be worth the chance again

As good as Sarr has played, which is excellent, i think he would play even better on the left, cutting in and shooting, so IMO a left footed player, experienced (and cheaper) as with Esse waiting to take over when ready.

What about a 2 year deal for Pepe, did well for Villareal, last season, 30, Left footed, might have a point to prove in the Premiership, cost about 10m

It's all about opinions, but in my view if 'it ain't broke don't fix it.'
I see no reason to disturb the understanding developed between Sarr and Munoz down our right side last season, which carried by far our most attacking threat last season.
Even the better teams struggled to deal with it.
If Eze departs, I think we'd be better served by trying to buy a player who can enhance our attacking play from that left sided position preferably with the dynamism that serves us so well down the right with Sarr and Munoz.
Imagine being able to stretch the play on the left in the way we can on the right.
Mateta would be a huge beneficiary too.

Why not? I’m not sure many were overly excited when Sarr was announced and look what happened, and at £10m you quote, by today’s standards that’s chicken feed and worth a punt
As an aside isn't football strange in that £10 m can be thought of as an absolute bargain?
By contrast the record signing in Scotland is still Tor Andre Flo who went to Rangers for £12 m in 2000.

I understand what you are saying, but, i think the problem is the quality of the LB, a left footer balances the team better, imo, i remember Sarrs goal when playing on the left, cut in and curled it into the bottom RH corner.
