Everton vs. Crystal Palace match thread

When I saw the white kit I was thinking "why now?". Don't introduce a kit when you're on a long streak. Players are superstitious. They won't want to wear that again.
I felt the same, but at least we looked like Palace.

For those of you who are Bob Mortimer fans he tells a story about Jack Grealish and his difficulties with staying upright about the 4:15 minute mark. Steve McClaren makes an appearance too.

Always thought you were a great set of fans but bleedin L you really hate us.Ref was just a poor one like all the others.
You could have been clear but that's football.
Good luck for rest of season.
We are this game only hurt because you find someway to beat us , your our boggie team we could have 99.99% of the game and still beat us , you looked after AJ and Yanick pity about Yanick , I live your end so I know

I've not really seen any hate directed at Everton in the comments.. It was a game we should of won comfortably but we threw it away.. We gifted you a way back in with a stupid tackle from Lacroix as up until then you hadn't really done anything.

Its been quite rightly pointed out that the Ref certainly favoured Everton with his 50/50 decisions, fell for Grealish falling to the floor every time he was touched and booked Adam Wharton for a perfectly good tackle.

However it wasn't the Ref who lost us the game is was us but certainly no hate towards Everton.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

I don’t think the ref was terrible. I think we should have been out of sight by halftime.
And I despise neither Pickford nor Grealish.
The former is still the best English shot stopper and the latter takes loadsa hits for his team.

The thing that annoyed me today was players drawing a foul by taking a huge step over & away from the ball.
Wharton getting booked for a brilliant old school slide tackle was absurd.
I want even to suggest that the penalty was the same thing…to the point I would even argue that MC was fouled rather than the other way around. The Everton attacker was not making a straight line for the ball.

Bottom line is we can’t sustain 2 games a week on this squad.
I hope we go out of the league cup asap as it’s the least important.
Still been a brilliant start to the season.
... and the ref was much more than terrible

Couple of common themes at the moment are that we're really good in the first half and then just look absolutely shattered. We're going to have to rotate more or it's going to be a problem.

Thought Grealish and Wharton were both brilliant and it baffles me that neither is in the England squad.

We should have been out of sight but Mateta missed two brilliant chances with what I have to say were lazy finishes. The chip should have been blasted or squared and the second one he just looked dead.

Very annoying given that we were winning but at least we can forget about the run now and focus on the rest of the season.

2nd half fatigue. Hardly surprising.

The ref was Championship level, allowing tackles that normally would be free kicks- suited Everton more than us. Having said that we lost a) because JP had a mare of a game and b) because Ollie was too slow to substitute players who looked knackered and gave Everton momentum.

On the positive side Forest lost again!

I expect Everton fans can't believe they won, after being totally outplayed in the first half. Credit to Moyes he made a few changes and were a different team in the second half. In a radio interview Glasner refused to accept it was down to tiredness, but not finishing them off, when we were on top.

We all knew the unbeaten run was going to end at some point and our bogey team Everton seemed apt, we have only beaten them once since 2014 in the league.
