El Hadji Diouf

I dont think we will buy a LWB and not play him.
Remember Mitchell is a left back and from what ive seen he is not adapting that well to LWB.
If we buy a LWB surely he will be played.

It depends who we buy - if it's an inexperienced 20 year old who has never played at this level before, it certainly points to a signing made with the next few years in mind, as opposed to looking for an immediate starter.

Now they're out of the Europa League, let's see if they are willing to sell him now.

The issues we've got is that they aren't desperate for money having sold 2 players this window. Plus, they are top of their league, going for the title.

He seems to fit the profile we are looking for and we do desperately need a LWB.

Think we'll need to be closer to £20m for them to sell. Interest from Liverpool has ensured that.

Will 15 do it?
If it happens it will be down to the wire now.

This is a tough one to guage. Regular at 20 but only the Czech League. Out of the Europa but going for the title. Well clear at the top and only conceded 7 goals in 19 games but sold their goalkeeper to Spurs

i watched the game yesterday until they went 2-0 down in a pretty even game. Most of the oppositions attacks went down the other side and he may be a bit slow at covering his man at EPL level. On the attacking front he was nothing like Mitchell or Munoz. It was a wide pitch and he stuck to the wing so was not under immediate pressure or had any of his teammates near him. So he was immediately looking to pass to players peeling off their markers or open in advanced positions. This he was excellent at in terms of both accuracy and weight. I was very impressed with that aspect of his play, a bit like Wharton on the wing but under less pressure
He got in the box a couple of times with nothing coming from it but has excellent goals/assists. He is also well built so should be good at set pieces. A yes from me

Hope this comes off. Seems exactly like the kind of player we need to create competition in the squad.

Thanks, interesting.

I think there is a mix of euro and sterling on the sites. I could be wrong but I think we offered 15 million euro and they wanted 20. We have now offered 15 million sterling 17 million euro
That is what I understood, but the inaccuracy of what is out there in what is supposed to be confidential discussions is the context.

On which, Transfermarkt only has a sale to Liverpool as the sole rumour and (get this) assesses the chance of transfer at 23%.

What variables does it apply to arrive at such an accurate prediction? I would confidently state that this figure can only be accurate to a chance of 62%, even with a +-10% margin.

Watching the highlights, I think the smart plan would be to play Diouf when the ball is in the attacking half and Mitchell when the ball is in the defending half. Would that work?
