I hope this gets settled soon as it appears as though several bigger clubs are after players of his ilk. Even if he isn't good enough for the top European clubs if they make purchases this will have a trickle-down effect.
In the UK, he'd probably walk into the United team - although according to The Athletic they have another target - whilst Liverpool are likely to be looking for someone of his profile to gradually replace Robertson. Tha latter is the weak link in their team and will probably go in 2026 when his contract expires, if not sooner

I think there's brinkmanship going on and, if we get him, if will be a last minute signing when there will have been a compromise.
We may wish for things to be different and the deal to be finalised early, but sadly experience tells us otherwise.

That's alright. I wouldn't be going for any football related reasons beyond the club paying.
They are playing in Europe tomorrow, if they lose they are more or less out of the competition. Perhaps they are waiting for this result before making a deal?
