tricky isn't it? all these Djiouf's, Dembeles, Diops and Doucoures, and why do they all start with the letter D? You can't sing there's only one Dembele or Doucoure cos there's so many of them. Why do so many footballers these days have the same or very similar names!? Crazy days.
My guess is that in their own culture the name is equivalent to Smith? 😀tricky isn't it? all these Djiouf's, Dembeles, Diops and Doucoures, and why do they all start with the letter D? You can't sing there's only one Dembedle or Doucoure cos there's so many of them.
The Italian equivalent is, roughly, Ferrari (same root as ferrous) but driving a 4 litre Ferrari sounds better than a 4 and a half pint Smith. My guess is that in their own culture the name is equivalent to Smith? 😀
If you've ever wondered why so many Polish Americans in war films are called Kowalski - it's because a kowal is a smith in Polish. Not a lot of people know that, apart from several million Poles that is.The Italian equivalent is, roughly, Ferrari (same root as ferrous) but driving a 4 litre Ferrari sounds better than a 4 and a half pint Smith.
He always dies too. Just like those extra security detail people who beam down with Kirk in a red uniform. If you've ever wondered why so many Polish Americans in war films are called Kowalski - it's because a kowal is a smith in Polish. I thought for a moment they had relocated Senegal.Ah that makes more sense!
It’s the Palace way! Allegedly we have learned from our mistakes in the Summer, we shall seeI assume the player wants to join and terms have been agreed with him.
Now it's a question of the usual last minute haggling with the club.
I don't know why this couldn't have happened in December, with a view to the deal being wrapped up when the window opened.
Thereagain, what do I know?
Hope so. Dean Gordon is my favourite ever Palace player.Watching YouTube clips he looks like he could deliver some Dean Gordon-esque rockets. Hard to get a gauge on his defensive abilities but he does look good going forward. Looks like a promising deal if the club can get it over the line.
