In the world football, has moved to, I would seriously question my agent if i were him. He should have been right on this.
As football has moved into this multi million pound global arena, the fans are frozen out of the whole financial side of the sport and their club. Very few clubs, if any, share exactly what is going on with their shareholders and their role re finance. This obviously trickles down from buying the club to transfers, fees etc.
It seems even players are in the dark to a certain extent.
Before money became such a big part of football, we would get the results at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, then more details of the game in a newspaper article the next day. It was why live games played such a big part of it.
Nowadays, you can follow all the action and pre game info on your phone even watching the game.
But when it comes to transfers, clubs go shtuum. We never hear anything from the club on injury detail, reasons players are moving on etc. etc. Not just Palace. Seem to be the way of most clubs.
At the end of the day, as fans we are expected to follow the game and action but not be kept informed about anything else.....except of course spending more and more money on the game/club.
Football is now Moneyball which in reality is a few billionaires/companies/countries having some fun investing in it, and the fans are the tail end Charlies. They can take it or leave it, their choice.
