The whole point was that it was supposed to be the best of Europe beaten by the German team. Not people who didn’t even know football existed.

So these were ethical Nazis. Not much if incentive to win when you'll probably get taken off and shot at full time.

They probably knew the match was going to be fixed by the referee. Didn’t you notice the fouling? Mind you, I’ve played against European teams at schoolboy level and they’re taught the dark arts, or they were and we weren’t.

Yes, indeed. Those heavily bearded "12 year olds" who drove their own cars to the match.
 
You have all watched the stupid Wrestling on the telly. A 'heel' is a bad guy who wins much of the fight, only for the hero to rally at the end and beat him. Giant Haystacks being a famous one. Even Hulk Hogan often played the heel. Great Entertainment. A key ingredient is that the Heel is super dangerous, early doors.............transforming to a stunned gobdaw who just stands there and takes all kinds of punishments to the cheers and jeers of all the Grannies in the audience.

Now transpose that model above onto this movie : Prey......part of the Predator franchise. Fantastic graphics, great entertainment if you are drunk or stoned. The early Predator is absolutely dynamite....tasty and deadly. With better reflexes and dexterity than Messi/Achilles. Later in the movie, when fighting the little girl, he was about as hard as Mother Therese of Calcutta.

not really a plot but just an observation. Period dramas......1920s, 1840s, 1960s.....

peaky blinders, MadMen, Napoleon, Goodnight sweetheart........... The interior decor of their home is a perfect Catalogue magazine photo-spread of that decade. With ZERO OLDER STUFF IN EVIDENCE.

Does your home today look like an exemplar of 2025 state-of-the-art Interiors ? You not got a twenty year old coffee table hanging around ? to spoil the photo ?
 
The Sopranos.
Nearly all the crews, thugs and gangsters are 100% Italian. And the wives and the Psychiatrist, and the restaurant, .....all Italian. In the real World, very Italian was in the 1920s, not the 1990s.
 
Some Like it Hot is a wonderfully entertaining film with a ludicrous plot with two musicians managing to evade the St Valentine's murder in Chicago then dress as women with one being listed after by a millionaire in Florida. Dumb but fun.

I also enjoyed both the Thomas Crown Affair films, but, you have to say, very difficult to take seriously.,

‘Some Like it Hot’ is one of the best black and white films. Genius.
 
‘Carry on Camping’ is one of their best.
