Dublin - Tickets / Travel / Accommodation / Meeting points / Local knowledge

Got an email from Shelbourne today (see below)
I read this as "the stadium is going to be full, and opportunists might be selling tickets. The police will chuck any trouble-makers out of the ground, so behave, and enjoy the game"

UEFA Conference League

A huge European night awaits us this Thursday as we take on Crystal Palace in the UEFA Conference League phase.
This is another massive night for the club and one for us all to look forward to. The support throughout this campaign has been superb and was highlighted with a record travelling Reds support in Alkmaar.
Tallaght Stadium will be at full capacity for the match so please take note of the following important match information:

🔴 Fans with tickets for the HOME section of the stadium will NOT be permitted entry if wearing Crystal Palace colours, any Crystal Palace branding or openly supporting Crystal Palace. Home areas are for Shelbourne FC support only – please respect this to avoid refusal at the turnstiles.

🔴 Supporters on the 3–game bundle tickets
All 3 match packs were reissued in the week before the FC Drita game due to a UEFA health and safety ruling. Your updated 3 match ticket includes information on entry and exit gate for your particular seats and your original ticket is no longer valid. Please ensure you use the updated ticket and enter via the relevant gate which is included on your ticket.

🔴 Travel & Transport Advisory
Allow extra time for travel and arrive at the ground in plenty of time. As well as the sell-out attendance, a possible taxi strike may result in heavier road traffic and increased demand on buses, trains, and other public transport options. Plan your route early and expect delays.

🔴 Club Shop

The club shop will be on site again and will have stock of the new home and away jerseys, our new leisure range and other club and festive accessories. Get in early to pick up what you need!

I look forward to seeing you all in Tallaght on Thursday.

So I flew into Dublin this morning, no match ticket. Looking for somewhere in the city centre to watch the game with other Palace fans in the same predicament (I surely can’t be the only one!) I saw Woolshed mentioned earlier so I’ll be heading there but if there’s a Palace takeover at some other bar can you post on here please? PS seeing lots of red & blue in Temple Bar… great to see.

Word on x that the club are selling resale tickets in the wild duck and it's a long que at the moment.

email from Shelbourne : (again)

🔴Gates Opening: All stadium entrances will open from 18:30. We encourage supporters to arrive early to allow sufficient time for ticket and security checks.

🔴Food & Beverage: Food will be available from multiple outlets within the stadium, no alcohol will be served.

🔴Ticketing: Please ensure you have your ticket ready for scanning on arrival. Fans with tickets for the HOME section of the stadium will NOT be permitted entry if wearing Crystal Palace colours, any Crystal Palace branding or openly supporting Crystal Palace. Home areas are for Shelbourne FC support only – please respect this to avoid refusal at the turnstiles.

🔴Transport & Parking: We encourage the use of public transport where possible. Limited parking is available near the stadium, and early arrival is strongly recommended. See link for public transport options https://tallaghtstadium.ie/access-transport/

🔴Assistance: Stewards and stadium staff will be available throughout the evening to provide assistance and guidance.

Support & Behaviour

As we host a UEFA competition fixture, it’s important that all supporters are aware of the behaviour standards expected on the night. UEFA regulations are strict, and any breaches can result in serious sanctions for both individuals and the club:

  • No use of pyrotechnics (flares, smoke bombs, fireworks)—these are strictly prohibited.
  • No offensive, discriminatory or provocative chanting, signs or behaviour—we are proud to be an inclusive club.
  • Respect for the opposition and match officials—our focus is on supporting our team positively and passionately.
  • Walkways and aisles must be kept clear.

We are in that club. Currently in The Palace Bar but no TV in here so need to find somewhere else to watch it

Definitely recommend getting to the the area early. The s*** weather makes traffic even worse. Getting on the luas will be a nightmare during rush hour too.

Is any one here staying in tallaght after the game? Wondering if any one wants to travel back to the airport together the following day via a few bars
We’re staying in the Glaushaus in Tallaght so will be around here. I read the Irish Palace supporters club are meeting at Abberley Court at 4 (can see the Abberley pub and square so presumably there) so was going to pass by.

Tallaght is not the Shelbourne 's normal stadium. In fact, many Tallaght residents support Shamrock Rovers and therefore they hate Shelbourne. Hence the bars in Tallaght are all neutral.

or if you are in Temple Bar, its a short walk to here... I think they got good tv screens

As an Eagle, i would avoid any bar with a Celtic logo as they are Antifa and Palestine and hence all support Sinn Fein too. But all the normal bars will be happy to accommodate you - and delighted to get your money. Remember Dublin is core Liverpool/Everton/ManUre territory. But it does have a fair smattering of hidden Eagles.
