Football matches were played at 3.00pm on a Saturday afternoon?

A quick tally of Palace home Prem.League matches up till the end of the year shows that Palace will play 1 Wednesday match,1 Friday match,1 Saturday match and 6 Sunday matches.
Away league matches show 1 Wednesday match,5 Saturday matches and 2 Sunday matches.

It would be bad enough playing on a Sunday afternoon,but 7.00pm on a Sunday evening is taking things a bit far. Sunday is usually a difficult time to travel,with most BR trackwork being carried out on a Sunday;bus timetables are "slimmer" on Sundays.

As someone who can't get to games Sunday kick-offs are a great thing because they're all televised but they must be an arse ache for anyone actually going.
In the Seventies there were Sunday games (possibly due to power cuts? Can't remember) and they always felt a bit strange.

Those were the days!!

I can cope with most kickoff time switches, but the one that seriously pi55es me off is the home game that’s switched to Monday night. Poxy Monday night, the weekend is done, everyone’s back to work school etc
For me, it turns from a nice leisurely cruise up there on a Saturday to having to rush home from work and then sit in rush hour traffic,(I don’t live in Bromley or South Norwood anymore) it takes the enjoyment away, if you can call watching palace enjoyable 🤣
So I don’t bother most of the time now, trouble is I have to sit and listen to Alan Smiths drivel on co comms!!

Sunday 10am games are the worst (3pm your time). Church is at 11, so I end up missing the whole 2nd half and I’m constantly forced to fight the urge to pull my phone out of pocket mid-sermon to check the score.

And clearly the Lord is testing me as it is, since he made me a Palace fan.

Cant play Saturday at 3pm when you're playing in Europe on Thursday evening.
