Cup final tickets

It’ll depend on how many returns there are. So it’s not necessarily going to be the same amount, if anything.
Re: “If anything”, this was posted in one of the City forums, which sums up why there are returns each year for teams that don’t have a following in all parts of the country..

“It happens every year. Local FA's ("The football family") get an allocation of tickets that they can buy. These are located at various price points in a clubs half of the stadium. They offer them to all local FA's and give them a choice of which end.

Any unsold get given back to the clubs to sell which is what this extra allocation is.”

I’d be surprised if FA affiliates outside of South London will be clamouring to use allocated tickets for this final, so I am confident you’ll get an extra allocation at some point soon.

I’m pretty confident we will as well. What I’m saying is, there’s no guarantee we’ll get the same amount. Locally it’s a pretty historic game for Palace.

I went to the semi’s and had a blast. I also went to the 2016 final and my voice hasn’t recovered from screaming at Clattenburg for not allowing us that advantage when we scored.

Anyway.. as an ordinary season ticket x 3, I went online an hour late with phase 2, second day and the only tickets available for 3 next to each other were very far back. I hummed and arred but decided against it. Cost was also a factor.

Instead we’re having a barbi and watching at home. Not quite the same but we’ll all have great fun. Up the Palace.

Enjoy..

You are talking complete and utter bollocks based on absolutely nothing other than some meaningless rant.
So you would say for example, someone who has held a season ticket for 40+ years has no more right to a cup final ticket, than someone who purchases a gold membership for a season or two while we're in the Premier League.
That doesn't make sense

Sorry, I have to take issue with this post. I've been a Gold Member ever since the club introduced it. I've also been an ST holder as well. Now, I, like others live abroad, so why can't we have the chance to get a ticket? Just because you seem to think we are 'fairweather' fans, for most of us, that is not the case. We & I use that term colloquialy, still get to SP as n when we can, does that make us less of a supporter?

FYI, I have got a ST for this season & 7980 points, I got my ticket thankfully in phase 2. Please think before you slag us Gold Members off, when you have no clue.

Rant over. COYP.
Have to agree with the sentiment. Make it to probably around 10 games a season altogether home and away. However as I was, amongst others, in Doncaster I can barely feel guilty for getting a ticket now. Having said that I do agree ST holders should come first

You are right, it doesn't make sense. Yes, you should have been able to get a ticket. Yes, the selling phase was unfair.

But don't blame those with only a season or two of gold membership getting a ticket instead of you, because it was the phasing of the sale phases dreamed up by the club that allowed them to get their tickets. What were Gold Members supposed to do, wait a while before logging on a for a ticket so those above them in the pecking order can get their's first? Of course not, they had the chance to get tickets, they got them.

Blame the idiot who dreamed up the phase sales, not the people who took advantage of a flawed system.

Good for you mate, you’re a better man than me, if I lived where you do that would be my lot, I wouldn’t be flying over for any game, I’d be quite happy to relax on my sunbed and leave all the desperate scramble and civil war for tickets behind me 🤣😎

Wrong.
Most Gold members are fair weather fans, who cherry pick which games they go to .
Putting them in the same category as supporters who've held season tickets for decades is just plain wrong.
Case closed.
Fair weather, how the feck do you know? I've been a member for donkeys years and would love to be a ST holder, but guess what, they're expensive and people have work and family commitments. I've over 3K points and do about half of home and plenty of away days - would have had no bother if the club had tied the tiers to points. The saltiness here after giving us literally well over the capacity of our own stadium is poor.

Swapsies?!!

I've got an adult and junior ticket in Block 547. If anyone has the same lower tier tickets and wants to do a swap let me know...my son would prefer to be in "the mixer" with the fanatics.

Cheers,

macca

Like you I attend about 10 games a season which because the match to match price is so much higher, we are spending the same amount as a season ticket holder who can get to every game for the same outlay. A season ticket might cost circa £30-£40 per match whereas an online purchase if you can get a ticket will cost circa £45-£55 depending on the opposition category.

Whilst an important part of the fanbase, I dont think being a season ticket holder translates to being the most loyal fan. The waiting list to get one is one year, some of us had season tickets during our championship years back in the 80s, 90s and 00s when there wasnt a loyalty scheme.

Season ticket holders already receive substantial privileges such as:
1. Better choice of seats, especially if they bought early doors back in 2010 onwards
2. Automatic renewal at the end of the season if they want to.
3. Dont need to attend all the games as they can sell their ticket back to the club if they cant/choose not to attend a game. It is disappointing when they leave their seat empty and dont sell back to the club.
4. Have priority/easier to purchase away tickets

We dont want it to turn it into a "closed shop" where only those that are current season ticket holders can build up enough loyalty points to always get all the privileges, and thereby preventing other fans from getting a look-in.

Season ticket plus and gold memberships are basically a queue jump scheme, and are common part of life these days not just in football.

The FAB are a group set-up to liaise with the club on non football matters and they are the best route for anyone who wants to share their gripes about the ticket phasing. Once the main stand re-construction has been finished, there will be a much bigger number of fans wanting a cup final ticket too.

Was with you all the way until you said GM is a queue jump - reasons vary. For me it's the best way to see Palace as someone who can't afford a ST and is unable to attend every game. By all means, have a debate, but please, let's not deal in absolutisms when you don't know what's in the head, heart or lives of fans.
