Cup Final Ticket Phases

Given that the tickets have (for all intents and purposes) completely sold out today it demonstrates what everyone knew - that phase 2 was too big and unnecessarily stressful for a large chunk of the core fan base. By core I mean the ~17,000 Palace tend to get whenever we have fallen back into the Championship.

There should have been a Phase 2 which was:

* Remaining current season ticket holders
* Gold members with at least X points (something like 3000/4000).

Phase 3 would then be

* Remaining Gold members with a purchase history before X.

Surely everyone can agree that a season ticket holder with 8400 points (that's a season ticket every year plus a few away games) being in the same group as a gold member who only ever needs to have bought one ticket in March is totally bizarre.

All the Premier League clubs are going this way - they know season tickets are poor value for the club vs what they can get through casual viewership. You see it at United with the forced cup attendances, at City with the frozen season ticket seats but increased corporate seats etc. etc. Being a Premier League season ticket holder is becoming an ever worse experience. It's an enormous shame that Palace are dipping their toe into that water.
You are 100% correct.✔️

I've had a season ticket for 40 years+, but I only just got a ticket.
It's a rubbish seat, which is also miles away from my son's seat.
On previous Wembley visits with Palace I've never had so much trouble buying tickets.

This points system has always been a bit of a mystery to me. Me and my Dad have had season tickets since the late 70s every year without a break. I have 7300 points my dad has 7115.....how I got to this I have no clue presumably difference being getting the odd ticket for friends and family.
So still a fair way away from the 8500 points.
I have been moaning for months about (In: Is the club defrauding loyal supporters thread) purchasing season ticket plus and not getting what I paid £50 odd quid for. Well I am not moaning now (For the moment) having my cup final ticket purchased for myself and Dad exactly where we wanted to sit by 10.07 this morning.
Me too, myself and two mates have had the same season ticket seats for 25 years now, we do similar away games and if anything I spend more in the club shop, yet I’ve fallen 1500 points behind one and 1000 behind the other, go figure!! 🤨

It does seem a strange way of doing things.

I'm pretty sure there are members who should be eligible were unable to get online until later today for any reason are going to miss out.

As you said, another phase, or even a couple more selling phases with ever decreasing numbers of points, would have been much more fair.

Unfortunately, its near enough all done and dusted now...the club decided on selling the tickets in this way, and although many don't like it, we have to lump it.

Does anyone know if Selhurst Park plan on showing it as looks like I've missed out. Not missed many games since 1969/70 season but never had a season ticket and only an adult member.Oh well😭🦅❤️💙

I will take you up on one point, there isn’t really a bad seat at Wembley in my opinion

Have you been at the back of the top tier? I have for an England game and it’s rubbish, Danny Welback scored and we didn’t have a clue until they announced it, it was so high. Also any atmosphere it feels like you’re above it and a bit out of it.

But having said that, I’d sooner have that than nothing if I was struggling for a cup final ticket
