Crystal Palace vs. Wolverhampton match thread

Pino needs benching, he was beyond dreadful. He seriously needs to buck his ideas up! Our build up play was slow and ponderous the only 3 players who were putting in a shift were Mitchell, Hughes and Henderson. Guessand came on and did create options allowing Mitchell more time to get to the touch line.

How we got 3 points is a mystery to me, felt sorry for Wolves a side that can rebuild in the Championship away from the circus 🎪 known as the Premiership!

I appreciate it only happened because we were playing against 10 men, desperately needed to win, and Riad was knackered, but switching to 4 at the back for the last 20 minutes was an unexpected change from Glasner especially after his “we tried it in training and it didn’t work” comment. I’ll be interested to see if he persists with it on Thursday.

It was an awful performance against the bottom team at home with no away wins and only 5 goals, yet they managed to have more than twice as many shots on target, despite selling there best striker for 48m,
ALL down to the ridiculous formation that leaves gaps at the back like a sieve, shortage of players in midfield, and not enough forward players, the system is bad enough, but we don't even play it well, Hughes should have been sent off, their player shouldn't have, thank god for Henderson, Glasner cant ruin him like he is doing to every other player, by luck we got a a welcome 3 points, but god we were poor.

The ref told Hughes he would be sent off if there was one more moody tackle , as they were walking down the tunnel at half time.

I thought it was a bit harsh.
Especially as the ref let Hughes off the hook for a few tackles which I thought should have been second yellows.

But you know...they go for you some weeks and then others it goes against.

The glasner clapping and waving at the end of the game it kinda felt like he was saying goodbye. And I guess leaving on a win if he was to go would be fitting.

Folk are desperate to grasp at any good news Lanzo. Reminding them how piss poor we continue to be upsets them.

Lets hope so, maybe the penny has finally dropped.

Upsets them, FFS, the facts are we are crap, we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, 🙄, most people that post on here sound like they are six years old.

Played poorly but got the 3 points which in the end is the most important thing. Team look devoid of confidence which only getting some wins will start to turn round. If we can win on Thursday something to build on in the last 3 months of the season. Hendo my MOTM

I think the demise has happened so quickly, particularly after expectations were raised, that some fans are still in a state of shock and disbelief. We are crap - it's a hard one to take, particularly after last season.

Without a doubt, a massive plus for any team, are their any goalkeeper managers 😎

Yesterday's result has taken the nail biting tension out of the equation for us,we will get to forty points hopefully at West Ham's expense, it does not really matter wether Glasner does the next few matches to finish the season or not but an early managerial appointment is fundamental to our future a manager with a buccaneering spirit who can adapt whilst a game is in progress would be ideal, let's hope the new manager can also get on well with Parish and help find a director of Football as good as Freedman.

There seems to be consensus that the system won't get the best out of Pino, Johnson and possibly Guessand and Larsen so in a way it's no surprise that Glasner mentioned his failure to integrate new players.
Larsen needs early delivery when he may have the opportunity to be in space to finish chances.
This didn't happen once yesterday as we continually declined opportunities to find him early.
We lumped the ball up to him after a slow build up meaning he had no space to operate.
Johnson is not a back to goal player and requires the ball played ahead of him to run on to the ball and finish/cross.
Pino is not a left sided forward in a front 3.
He has no left foot, continually turns inside where he is dispossessed or plays telegraphed or misplaced passes.
The current way we play seems set up for these players to fail.
Moreover, with Glasner acknowledging his failure to integrate them, surely his task is to find a way of playing them which enables them to flourish.
I don't think we'll see the best of these players under Glasner and am not fooled by the fortunate result against a very poor Wolves team.

That's a bit rich Lanzo, when you sound like a toddler throwing his toys out of the pram.

It says everything you need to know when Dean Henderson is nominated motm against a Wolves side bottom of the league, having scored only 18 goals in 28 games.
