Crystal Palace vs. Wolverhampton match thread

Excellent from the kids at the back ,didn't put a foot wrong .Great stop Hendo

Midfield were poor without the ball today which has been a feature since December , prodded about with it but things were quite compact .We needed more width but unfortunately what wingers we have are playing for someone else in the Championship .

Forwards were feeding off scraps

A wins a win though and that should be that as far as the league goes ,a couple of draws and another win in our last ten /eleven games should see us comfortably in 12th .

Europe awaits

COYP!

Wasn't pretty but we got the much needed 3 points. 1 more win and a draw and we're good to rebuild as a Premier League team next season.

It's a shame we're so dire; we'd be in a good position to start looking up otherwise, 3 points off Europe!

Delighted with the win even that it was an ugly, laboured victory in a way. Plenty of huff and puff but silly yellow cards conceded and profligate with too much of the passing and forward play. Henderson MOTM for telling contributions that on another day could've presented Wolves with a win. Guessand's goal was well taken but a team performance overall that was cagey and lacking confidence. We missed Lacroix.

This! Seems he is one of the onlies who keeps the nerves even when all goes wrong. One could easily argue that our trophy room would still be empty, Europe as far away as ever hadn't he parried the pen in the FA-Cup-Final.

Madness to think if we hadn't thrown away the 2 goal lead against Burnley we'd be 8th. Today was one of the most uninspiring wins I've seen, barely creating a chance, misplacing passes and generally all around disjointed. Reminded me of Hodgsons last performances. Thank goodness we were playing bottom of the league...and even then we had to rely on a missed penalty and a red card.

Oh well 3pts puts us closer to safety... Just can't get over what a huge opportunity wasted this season has been. So many mistakes from the board, recruitment and manager. No one is free of blame.

Let's hope this can be a springboard for the remainder of the season (but I thought Brighton might be that).

Piss poor match from two bad sides but we got the win which, when playing that poorly is the important thing.
It may give us some confidence going forward hopefully so onwards and upwards people.

We were awful. Guessand made a difference as soon as he came on.

We are probably 3 points from safety. I would be tempted to sack Glasner now if we have a permanent new man in the wings. There's no point making a change for an interim, that will just cost us money.

Pino has lost the plot. We don't play him in his best position, but he seems unable to pass, tackle or take good free kicks or corners. If he was a replacement for Eze, we obviously didn't do our homework. Sell him in the Summer.
Johnson? Too early to say, but he has done next to nothing.
Canvot? Has potential but makes rash decisions.
Riad? The Jury is still out.
Strand Larsen? Cannot carry the team alone. We need alternatives.
Nketiah? Sell him in the Summer.
Uche? Send him back.
Guessand? Has a lot of potential. Looks like a player.

Matt Hobbs? Wolves recruitment under him was rubbish. How have we employed this guy? Get rid.

We will do well to keep hold of Wharton and Munoz in the Summer and Mateta will be gone. We need to do some very good business.

Another rare, but very welcome, win today although I still feel an enormous sense of relief rather than unbridled joy which I put down to the dull, stodgy performance. I used to leap up and down, pumping the air with pleasure - doesn't happen like that now.

Boy, we made hard work of that with so many poor passes and stuttering, negative play even after Wolves were down to ten men. I have no doubt we'll still be a PL club next season, but there sure is a lot of work needs doing by the Board in employing a new manager to take a very critical look at the playing staff, some of whom don't deserve to wear the red and blue.

Watching on the telly it looked at game end that Deano was getting into it with someone behind his net. Looked like he was saying something along the lines of 'come down here and say that'. Not sure if that was it.

This is what I'm hinting at in my posts above. But is it solely him? Surely any recommendations get assessed by the manager and chairman? Who decided it was wise to have a top heavy forward line at the expense of the midfield and defence? The whole set up seems so shambolically amateur. Let's not mention the money spent on dross.

Disgraceful and embarrassing. Struggled to beat 10 men when we also had the ref. on our side.
If I were a Wolves fan I'd say we had been robbed. Imagine we had been on the other side of some of the ref's decisions - there would have been a riot.

Our lack of ball control and accurate passing was shown up and will be further exposed next Thursday.

For once we can truly say 'Lucky Palace'
