Crystal Palace vs. Stockport match thread

Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell and JPM all came out of that game looking good… sitting in the warm not worrying about anybody taking there spots on the team.

That really was a tough watch.

A win is a win. Very disjointed but maybe that’s expected with lots of changes. No injuries to key players is probably the biggest positive but Eze playing all 97 minutes seems a bit silly to me when we have two key games coming up in the next week. Players who came in didn’t exactly make strong claims to get in our best eleven but it isn’t easy slotting into a heavily changed team.

Ends with a good move but lucky they were playing a side so far below them. TBF, Kamada made 3 good long balls in the second half. Doucoure not coming on suggests ongoing issues. That partnership with Wharton may never see the light of day

Phew, tfft.
Eze, for the goal, Turner for 2 saves & Lerma only for his throws( that miss, jeez). Strange line-up in defence, thought(imo) Guehi struggled on the right, Richards struggled but was better & it was great to see Riad back.

Turner was untroubled mainly & made a great save, well done. Kamada, well, not an EPL player, got some nice touches & presents himself for a pass. The enigma that is Nketiah, hmm. Though Munoz was restrained today, not storming down the right as per, Sarr, the same, tho ineffectual hence why hooked. Clyne almost anonymous tho got into few good positions on the left.

Devenny & Schlupp acquitted themselves well. Overall, not a spine tingling watch(imho)

I thought Kamada had a decent game. Riad a bit rusty but you can see the potential once he is fully up to speed.

If it's any consolation, Palace were as bad today off the pitch as on. Got to the ground at 2.40 to find thousands queuing. We queued for 45 mins, got in at 3.25. Not a dicky bird of apology from anyone. Then had to sit through that.

That was a difficult watch anyway but made much, much worse having to listen to that man at the front of Block N in the upper shouting constantly for 97 minutes!!

If he didn't have any bleedin' obvious advice on what every player should do every time the ball came near them then he would just fill the silence by shouting "RUN" or "FORWARD" at the top of his lungs!!

Well, that was a difficult watch. At least we won 🙂 Only comment I can make on Eza’s performance is that he scored the winning goal. Kamada was okay first half but poor in the second. Thought Richard’s looked okay in the middle of 3. Still don’t think the middle of midfield with 2 in it works. The front 3 never get decent service

The only time i have seen any worth in Nketia is when he goes on a run with the ball. He made a couple today but on both occasions just petered out.
Besides that Im not sure what the plan is. Not quick, lightweight and not particularly aggressive. But he is not lazy.
To me seems a very odd purchase. He reminds me of academy player being given a run. A good try but no result. Im trying to see anything in him moving forwards but can't seem to find it.

Sarr and Munoz seem to match well with Mateta. Without him in the middle there seemed no plan.
