Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City match thread

All the goals were avoidable and caused by basic mistakes like giving the ball way, not jumping.
It's ok playing some decent football, but you have to get the basics right in both areas.
And the question remains where the goals are coming from without the contributions of Sarr, Mateta and Munoz.

Well, a very depressing start to our season. I’ve been looking forward to the return of football, what on earth was I thinking? And before some idiot accuses me of being a bedwetter, I’ll just ask how any palace fan cannot find this depressing.

Not good enough on any level. We have to spend.

Nketiah and Strand Larsen are nowhere near good enough and our midfield lacks bite. The defence is a mess. Richards looks his true average self without Lacroix. Another quality CB needed.

On the other hand he’s been given a Premier League gig after 100 games in management

I think he’s realising he has gone too early on a job he wasn’t ready for.
Totally agree. Personally I wasn't happy when he got appointment. Yeah he had one good season with Lens, but in my opinion that isn't enough to earn a job in the best league in the world.

Him or Eddie I say both we tried to get in the past.

I do think Sage will be given until Xmas unless we keep getting stuffed.
I don’t know. This all feels very much like the de Boer season. That’s probably unfair on Sage but we look so far away from a competitive Premier League team it is unreal. He clearly has no idea what tactics to play or who the best eleven are.

We need much simpler organisation. We need to realise that our objective is staying up. Grind out results. Far, far too open.

Sage plays open style I wonder if this is the problem he is trying to play Glaz ball but allow them to be more open and you cant do that in Prem the other leagues yes you can.
