Crystal Palace vs Kups match thread

That's what happens when you play the reserves. Two extra games.

I'm quite annoyed.
 
Not sure what to say really.. Glasner took a gamble and it didn't pay off.. One of those things. Now we end up with another 2 games added.

One thing for certain is that we need to add 4 or 5 players at least in January. Not necessarily permanent signings but reinforcements are badly needed.

One shining light from tonight is that 16yr old Drakes-Thomas clearly has the potential to become a quality top flight player.
 
Overall the table does not lie, we are not one of the better teams in this competition. We are going to struggle to go much further. Perhaps it was a blessing we were not in the Europa as this level seems challenging enough.
 
The reality is that we haven't performed well in this competition.
Not to beat Larnaca, Strasbourg or Kups is poor and clearly we haven't demonstrated our league form against inferior opposition in this competition.

On tonight's evidence Thomas looks a better prospect than Esse.
He has control of the ball, retains possession and doesn't run down blind alleys or show poor discipline like Esse.
There's more to the game than an occasional flashy backheel.

Very frustrating to now face two extra games after throwing it away with a mad few minutes. Can't blame them as they've never played together, just infuriating the sloppy manner of the goals conceded and the fact we had it in our hands. Sad also for the young lads that they don't get to celebrate a win in their first game. Benamar and JDT certainly caught the eye.

I guess if we can only get 1pt from home games against Larnaka and KuPs then we don't really deserve to finish top 8.

Perhaps we should be congratulating KuPS, who saw through our shoddy patched up 11 and had a go. Glasner must have learnt a few things after this game. Essentially, if you want to win a game then put out your best side.
 
We are making hard work of this European malarky but we are still in there punching and will maybe come back to it in February a bit fresher and with a couple of reinforcements for the knock rounds .

Thought the kids did alright and will learn a lot from that experience . Just the same old problem in not scoring when well on top ,should have been at least two up at HT which would likely have been game over .
