Crystal Palace vs Kups match thread

I think he's being overly criticised for the performance. Obviously it wasn't the greatest performance however when he had the ball centrally it was the only time their defensive unit got pulled out of place and he was able to play some nice through balls leading to good chances. No one else on the pitch managed to do this.

His pressing game has improved but his positioning and decision making still has a way to go. I feel he's one of our only players who has the potential to make something out of nothing ala Zaha, Olise, Eze.

Plus he's still only 20 years old FFS he has plenty of time to improve. Ebz first half of last season was pretty poor for a player with his experience and talent but look how that ended!

Agree about Sosa though he hasn't impressed me much, but he was bought as a cheap back up I guess, and that's exactly how he's playing.
I understand that Glasner wanted to buy Sosa when he was playing for Stuttgart and Glasner was manager of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Perhaps Sosa’s head isn’t with Palace. There’s no way he can get in front of Mitchell and with limited game time he may just want out. But like Others I haven’t been impressed with him in the games for us?

The option for Glasner was to move the left-footed Benamar to right-wing back on his debut and play in front of another debutant George King or play the more experienced Sosa on the right where he has filled-in before.
Drakes-Thomas is being retrained to be a RWB, it might have been a good idea to play him there, or
we could have played Glasners favorite formation 442.
Benitez
Canvot Guehi Lerma Sosa
Esse Devenny Hughes Drake-Thomas
Nketiah Uche

With Guehi, Hughes and Nketiah, being replaced with King, Rodney and Casey at half time.

Sorry i'll get my coat.

Perhaps we should try and sign some of these KuPS players, they're better than what we've got
Please, don't rob them from KuPS, even if you get them ridiculously cheap.
Palace would certainly gain many new fans from Finland with them, but those who are already attached to the club after yesterday's experience will probably be enough. It's best to focus on bringing very promising youngsters into the starting lineup.

I wrote in another thread that I met Sosa a few weeks ago. He seemed pretty positive about the whole situation because I asked him what's it like not playing much due to T's form. Seemed really nice guy and that he hopes we can strengthen in January as we have an opportunity.

The fact that Sosa was substituted tells me he has no future with us. I’ve not been impressed with him in any game he has appeared in and he was very poor tonight. We were a mess defensively for the first 20 of the second half. Not really those players fault as I doubt if they had ever worked as a unit before, but didn’t it show! Lerma can play there but obviously cannot organise and players were each marking the same man leaving another free.

However, what a debut from Drakes-Thomas. We look like we just saw the start of something special. Crosses a wicked ball, has composure and not afraid to shoot. Is he really only 16? I feel sure he will be on the bench a few times from now on.
The fact that Sosa was substituted tells me Glasner didn't trust him playing with a yellow card for the final 30 minutes. His future? I have no idea.
