Crystal Palace vs. Burnley match thread

Please. I think it’s reasonable to expect us to take more than 5 points from 30 with the fixtures we’ve had and beat a team of semi pros in the cup. I don’t think expecting more than 1 win in 13 is being ‘entitled’ or unrealistic.

I could ask you what is the point where you think ‘no this isn’t good enough’. When we lose to Macclesfield? Clearly not. When we lose to Burnley at home? Doesn’t seem so. When we get relegated maybe?

Aslong as we stay up which we will, alongside playing in Europe, I think its a successful season, if we had this many points after this many games under hodgson, people would be asking for him to be knighted.

why do you think we will stay up? If we carry on with current form we will get to about 36 points. I don’t think that’s going to keep anyone up this season.

Pino. Johnston, Sarr and Larsen are all good international players, if you play them all together in a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1, they will excel, not some pathetic 8 defensive player system.
What’s worst about the system is that it is clearly supposed to make us solid defensively but we aren’t. Not even close. We are awful defensively.

So how many points will spurs, Brighton, forest, burnley and wolves end up with on current form ? Of course they're all gonna turn into world beaters over night

Apart from we beat Fulham and drew at home, Tottenham we completely dominated, a draw away at villa is a decent result, any point away from home is a decent result in this league and beat brighton away from home who had only lost once at home this season.
Give it a rest, here's a clue, rearrange these two words to explain your view, Battle, Losing

Just can't believe it, but then again maybe I should. Glasner needs to go and we need serious revitalisation in the squad.
2-0 up and cruising against the worst team in the league. This is all on the manager. Subs all wrong and he allowed the players to get casual after the 2 goal lead. Lerma at right back was a terrible decision, but we simply don't know how to break down any sort of low block. That's why we have no chance in the Conference League it will be Larnaca style in every game. Glasner has no ideas if plan A doesn't work.
If Thomas Frank wants to start now I will more than welcome him with open arms.

Spurs will be fine now they’ve ditched the manager. They will get above 40 points. They’ll get three against us for a start. Forest I back to get another 12 points. Brighton will also get to 40. They don’t need to be world beaters. They just need to scrape enough wins.

We don’t need to be world beaters either but we can’t be the worst team in the division averaging 0.5 points a game. That will get us relagated.

What you mean the Tottenham that finished 17th last season under a different manager ?

On current form over the last 6 league games we've averaged just under a point a game, that takes us comfortably over 40.

I’ve tried to be measured with Glasner in recognition of his achievements last season.
I was even prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt during the bad run, believing we’d be fine when players returned.
However, it’s now evident to me that things are not right.
We haven’t played well for a couple of months and in truth didn’t really play well v a poor Brighton team even in winning.
Tonight was chaotic and not for one minute did I think the substitutions would work or that we would turn the game around.
It was poor management.
Another goal conceded from a set piece which we do nearly every game , and wide open to counter attacks which could easily have led to more Burnley goals.
We were static, our crossing was poor and there was little in the way of fluid pass and move.
It’s not just down to Glasner; our transfer policy has been poor .
We’ve ended up with 4 players - Sarr, Johnson, Guessand and Pino who all look more naturally right sided players and nobody who looks comfortable on the left.
The loss of Guehi has left our defence lacking organisation, covering pace and calmness.
I think the management has lost it’s way.

I've said it before but we seriously lack in midfield - partly down to players available and mostly because Glasner's system. I expect the next manager to address what is an obvious weakness.
