Crystal Palace vs. Brighton match thread

I saw a post match interview with Mitchell after he had been awarded MOM.
He was asked about England and he said he just wants to concentrate on getting Palace as high up the table as possible.
No ego, no fuss and a great team player.
Yes, I know he can’t drop the shoulder and whip in a cross or smash in a 30 yarder into the top corner.
But let’s focus on what he can do- everything else!
Outstanding.
Mitchell is a quality defender who got some tough treatment today. One of his hardest games so far this season.

Very impressed with canvot. Gives me confidence that we can rotate him with the squad now and give 1 of the back 3 a rest.

We potentially have our marc Guihe replacement next year.

Not the greatest game. Both sets of fans will be pleased with no loss.

Dunnow if it's me but the rivalry is starting to fizzle out for me these days.

If Pinot's late shot had gone in, we would be fourth in the table!
My worry is we are going to really struggle in December if we keep playing our best players to win every game. Our squad is too small to cope with the demand about to hit us. Africa cup in new year will also drain us.
Having said all that, Im sure OG has got a plan up his sleeve. But most of our players looked drained today.

I wouldn't say awful, but certainly not warranting his starting spot right now. Bring back Hughes immediately. Agree on Canvot and Mitchell - very good.
The problem is Hughes can’t play the position Kamada was asked to play in that game (one of the front three). The manager doesn’t rate Esse or Uche and fans can clearly see that Kamada (who has done well as a CM) and Devenny aren’t cutting it there so we cannot rest Mateta, Sarr or Yeremy without it being a significant downgrade.

If it hadn't been Brighton and, more importantly, if we didn't have a break coming up, Glasner wouldn't have played our best players to the end. They WERE tired, but he didn't want to risk a costly mistake by a sub. In December he knows he'll have to load balance, and at that point he'll simply have to decide his priorities and manage the team accordingly.

We are looking for reasons for not scoring making the odd mistake all the time , they are the fittest squad we have had and maybe the most skillful ,
they wasn't tiring just doing the simple things to save energy , don't listen to Clinton he couldn't run 5 yards without a holiday , all pundits talk about is playing to much , try working and playing you know the real world ,
so stop thinking this lot can't do the work load , I've see enough in this squad to not worry about playing to much , its a adrenaline sport all the time its going well , you have energy to burn , so please all of yous stop saying there tired due to playing 90 mins of football twice a week or even 3 times ,
I ran 10 to 15 miles a day 5 days a week play football and done a 12 hour shift which involved being on my feet , like the other 400 workers that was on site , so enjoy the ride while its happening, we lost to many players due to injurys in the past , enjoy why you can

Should have spent more time in English Language I reckon rather than all that pesky running.

What really bugs me is Kamada is on a huge salary, earning twice what Guehi is paid but half the player. Those salaries should be the other way round based on ability, then just maybe Guehi may have been inclined to stay.

Canvot was amazing, just two items of concern - there's a general hesitancy in front of goal and a tendency for the oppo to press a single player into a blind alley. Nketiah is finding his form and I look forward to his sharpness in front of goal. I prefer Kamada central and Pinot wide but the rotation was no doubt used to manage playing time. I thought Brighton were decent, their 24 and Gomez were outstanding imho.

Of course, I wasn't suggesting we play Hughes there ha. That was more of a general comment.
Devenny will never let you down there, but he's a safe option, I admit.

It's what we had to pay to get Kamada. A lump sum to him on joining and half the salary would look better but might have tax implications. I'm sure Guehi has been offered at least double his current salary (50,000 pw) if he signed an new contract but has decided to cash in at the end of his contract
it's hard to believe Kamada will be offered the same money from next year so he may well be off.

We ran out of steam, which was predictable.

Canvot had a good game. Mitchell struggled a bit. The front players looked tired.

I'm afraid this is portent for our season. Our schedule is nuts and we will come undone. Signings needed in January.
It's amazing that by Christmas we will have played 11 more competitive games than Man U
