Crystal Palace vs. Brentford match thread

Lerma and Kamada played well today. Pino is becoming more involved. Everyone put in a shift.

The double header goal was a beautiful thing... As was the own goal.

Henderson had hardly anything to do.

I thought Kamada was outstanding, early on it looked a bit like the Arsenal performance, squandering good attacking positions, Sarr was repeatedly obstructed but showed pace and strength to get the better of their defenders, especially when he was in on goal towards the right of the box first half but squared it behind Pino. Good workmanlike performance, the challenge will be to keep the work rate up given the schedule.

Who writes this s***? What game was he watching?

There was little to choose between the teams in the opening 30 minutes,

The rest of it makes out we were fortunate. Laughable.

The BBC have obviously taken note of your comment and updated their report as it no longer says that

Good interview with Glasner as always

Terrible from the Brentford manager - which is a good thing, shows ultimately he's clueless as doesn't recognise the opposition had them on the ropes all game and were never in trouble after going ahead

Brentford had a simple gameplan - Palace negated it - then they had nothing

(Edit - amusingly where it offers you to tell the bbc about your views on Brentford's performance it takes you to Burnley instead)

I think it’s 10 starts/45 minutes during a game.
Can’t see him getting them, from what I’ve seen of him so far , he likes laying down and holding his leg.
Panic loan by the look of it. “Get a big strong looking black fella that can replace JPM”
He don’t look like it. Unfortunately

Apparently he only has to play 10 games so likely we will have to sign him or pay a penalty to void the contract

Really solid, professional performance and a great win.

The back three - exceptional. Any one of them could be POTM. Lerma very good, Kamada and Pino both decent games although some wayward passing and Mateta and Sarr constantly threatening. Dreamland!

Mitchell was good too. They had a break (from our corner I think) he had two players bearing down on him and an awkward high bouncing ball to deal with - he managed to get up, twist his neck muscles and get it out of danger. Top class defending.

Generally Brentford were very limited and created next to nothing from open play.

On my way back from the game.

Good result Brentford didn't look a threat but still worried by wasting too many chances.

I would have liked to see subs used earlier and once we got second we could have tried some other players we are going to need everyone in the squad this season.
This is the most positive post grumpymort has ever written (that I can remember).

Unless… someone has hacked into his account! Give us back the old grumpymort!!

My favourite moment in the game was in the first half when we were attacking the Holmesdale. A Brentford player had the to the left of the goal when he was surrounded by 3 Palace players (pack of wolves) who forced him into giving away a corner.

A bet Glasner loved that moment.

Brentford are a better team than some on here are giving credit. Fine margins and all that, yesterday it was our day well done lads.
