Just shows what Mateta does for our club. He has become the heartbeat of the team. Lose him in the way we did and we lost our rhythm. Just hope he is ok as we need him badly. He brings so much energy to the team. (Never thought I would say that)
Nketia is a good back up and Im sure will improve under Glasner. Take him any day ahead of Edouard.

What happened to Mateta was totally outrageous. How ref Oliver did not produce an instant red card, I do not know. That was one of the most dangerous/worst fouls I have ever seen. Even worse, the keeper must have known what he was doing when he realised he was not going to get the ball he had wildly set off for. Wildly fly hacking towards the ball six foot up and then connecting with a players face with studs up makes a kung fu kick look tame.
Parish was seething at half time. Clearly in a state of shock. Just hope JP is ok.

It was the way it happened that was shocking. But the possibility that Mateta could be out for a longer time was unfortunately always there. Hopefully Eddie or Sarr can step in for him and deliver the performance.

So, the keeper will miss 3 games unless it’s investigated and he gets a longer punishment. But we could potentially lose Mateta for 3 or more games if the injury is bad so there seems to be no justice whatsoever.

Parish was fuming and rightly so and he wasn’t going to let that stupid woman who interviewed him at half time put him off speaking his mind despite her best attempts. I hate the BBC.
