CPFC v Man Utd 1972

You must be a bit older than me hythemac, as I wasn't old enough to celebrate in a pub! But I was probably standing quite near you as I was down the front, just to the left of the halfway line in the Arthur. I was one of those with a noisy rattle & homemade scarf. What a day!
I was also near the front of the Arthur just to the left of the halfway line. Could have been standing next to each other! Had been going to every home match since 1967 and really thought with Don Rogers and Alan Whittle signing and their form that day, the club were finally going to consolidate their position in the top division of English football. It was a great day and unbelievable that some 18 months later we were standing in the rain at Ninian Park Cardiff seeing the team and those players go down to the third division. Such is the Palace rollercoaster!
