I was in the Holmesdale on that day, and had to avoid the bricks thrown by the MU fans!
I remember that very clearly. An indicator of the state the ground was in at that time that there was spare rubble lying around for use as projectiles.I was in the Holmesdale on that day, and had to avoid the bricks thrown by the MU fans!
Me. Even though the united side, with its 'greats, was a formidable one, by this time, age had caught up and we stuffed them, didn't we. Unheard of.52 years ago, we thumped them on Dec 16th 5-0. How many on here, were there that day?
That's not how I remember it. Am I going mad?The Sainsburys money went into Ray Bloyes back pocket, and it was years later.....early 80s. Indeed Bloye got one over on Ron Noades there.
You must be a bit older than me hythemac, as I wasn't old enough to celebrate in a pub! But I was probably standing quite near you as I was down the front, just to the left of the halfway line in the Arthur. I was one of those with a noisy rattle & homemade scarf. What a day!I was there. Standing in the Arthur by the half way line. A fantastic day as was the Apres match in The Ship, South Norwood. Happy Days!
I had reached the grand age of 20 when the match was played.I think i was their, i would have been 5, but my dad started taking me at 4, if i was there i would have been sitting on the wall in the Whitehorse.
Willo, you're priceless. The image i've got of you now is this . . .I had reached the grand age of 20 when the match was played.
Full of vim and vigour with a pep in my step and could be filed under 'Lothario'.
