'Brian' is a classic in every sense - outrageously daring, mischieviously witty and out loud funny in so many places - right up until the closing 'Always Look on The Bright Side of Life', at which point I switch off.

What's wrong with The Holiday?😉'Brian' is a classic in every sense - outrageously daring, mischieviously witty and out loud funny in so many places - right up until the closing 'Always Look on The Bright Side of Life', at which point I switch off.
Pleased to see that neither Love Actually or The Holiday have been mentioned yet. Both mildly amusing, but a tad too schmaltzy for me.
If I had to choose one, I'd plump for Die Hard which set a trend for many other, lower grade films. Alan Rickman was perfect as the outwitted villain and of course, poor old Bruce Willis was at his most energetically heroic. Very sad to see how illness has struck him down.

It's a great little novel. The Mrs is watching "Goodbye Mr Chips" at the moment. The Martin Clunes version. Not Christmassy in the slightest, but along with the Railway Children, seems to be on at this time of year. I love both of them, and i get all teary-eyed watching. It's not crying, because men don't cry.
