Christmas films

Only ones I’ll probably watch are Bad Santa 1 and 2

Last Christmas my mrs was recovering from a knee operation just before Xmas and sat through about 70 of those Woolie crap American Xmas films. 🤮I know it was around that many because she was counting them, making notes and rating them out of 10 so she knew whether to watch them again!! I did utter the words ‘you need to get out more’ a couple of times, but as she’d had an op I knew this was harsh 🤣

Most are very good, eat ,drink and then sleep and miss the ending... oh! Santa got to deliver the present by tossing it over the back fence very Amazon of him. 😉

'Brian' is a classic in every sense - outrageously daring, mischieviously witty and out loud funny in so many places - right up until the closing 'Always Look on The Bright Side of Life', at which point I switch off.

Pleased to see that neither Love Actually or The Holiday have been mentioned yet. Both mildly amusing, but a tad too schmaltzy for me.

If I had to choose one, I'd plump for Die Hard which set a trend for many other, lower grade films. Alan Rickman was perfect as the outwitted villain and of course, poor old Bruce Willis was at his most energetically heroic. Very sad to see how illness has struck him down.

What's wrong with The Holiday?😉

The Mrs is watching "Goodbye Mr Chips" at the moment. The Martin Clunes version. Not Christmassy in the slightest, but along with the Railway Children, seems to be on at this time of year. I love both of them, and i get all teary-eyed watching. It's not crying, because men don't cry.
