Official - according to the Athletic.

Atleast Riad had 90 mins sunday - and have richards and Clyne.

Really need full back cover now incase clyne needs to play CB
 
This is why I hate loans, they’re either crap, and/or on their way back from injury and needing game time or they’re good and you know they’re going to get called back because they’ve been decent or we lose them to a better offer because they’ve put themselves in the shop window doing well for us

6 months ago he was banished to the reserves and maresca said he wasnt part of their plans.

As soon as he was pulled from Sunday's squad you knew he was going back. For his sake I hope Chelsea actually play him and don't just bring him back for cover. The frustrating thing is that he was getting better for us after a slightly shaky start. One positive to take from this is that Guehi is not going anywhere now. Another slight positive is that it frees up a loan slot.

Couldn't care what happens to him, He is no more a Palace Player
 
Hard to see he has much of a future at Chelsea when at the age of 25 he's played more games out on loan and as many for England at U 16/17/19/20/21 as he has for them.
He's been at Chelsea since he was a kid and might genuinely love them but so did Gallagher and they flogged him quick enough.
 
If true this is extremely bad news to us. Our back three without him in has looked pretty shambolic this season. That’s not because of his attributes so much as him building a great unit with Lacroix and Guehi. It has been the one bit of the team that has functioned well with midfield and attack remaining poor.

So we are basically back to square one where we were at the start of the season having to build a defensive unit again. Look at how long it took us to get functional as a team at the start of the season. If that is repeated we are likely to get relegated.

Riad has hardly played for us and has virtually no EPL experience. He could be a brilliant ball playing centre half or he could be too lightweight and not ready for the pace of the EPL. We just don’t know at this stage as we haven’t seen enough of him. What we have seen suggests he could be a very good long term investment but I would not want to be having to gamble with starting him at this stage

I thought TC was decent for us, but Guehi is a much better player in most respects, so if that's true then Chelsea were taking the pi$$. I hope Chelsea nosedive and their ridiculous squad bankrupts them!

Absolutely agree. That basically rates Guehi as a £35m player which is ridiculous in today’s market. I really hope we refuse to deal with Chelsea again on any loans and if they come knocking for Guehi in the summer we tell them where to go.

It is still very bad news though. We have to rebuild a back three with one of an out of form Richards or an untried Riad. It also means we also are now light on defensive cover.
 
Maybe they've been waiting for a chance to get us back over Olise not wanting to go there. For most clubs that would sound paranoid but with them who knows.

No riad got injured 4 days before the window closed we then opted to get trev in as cover so, did like Trevor but it kinda works out as we were never gonna buy him and with Richards, riad, clyne and lerma who can go there we have more then enough cover
