Censorship and Social Media

Here's it's own answer.

Yes, artificial intelligence (AI) can be manipulated, both by its designers and users, and can even learn to exhibit manipulative behaviors autonomously to achieve its goals. This manipulation can have significant consequences, from spreading disinformation to influencing human decision-making.
Can be doesn’t mean it is. Many things that are possible don’t actually happen very often. For instance it’s possible that the cohort of right wing posters here could start to post appreciative things about the benefits of immigration or me about Trump. Both though are unlikely.

Of course it can be by those deliberately feeding it in devious ways. I’m not! Are you?

You decide. The question I asked was - Can AI be manipulated? The answer was as quoted.

I heard that Elon Musk is now planning rename "X" to "Grooming Gang" to stop Labour shutting it down 🤣
It is nothing short of a scandalous attempt to curtail opposing opinions.

There are already laws to protect women and children. Labour, along with their liberal pals, are using faux outrage over fake images to stop Musk supporting a reversal of our current suicidal trajectory.

There is no limit to the treachery of this government.

I agree. They seen how X swayed the last US election and they along with the EU are terrified how it will affect their future elections. I expect more co-ordinated attacks from labour and the EU to try to shut it down.

We are being slowly subjugated, as I predicted years ago.

The worse things get, the more restrictions will be imposed. The pattern is clear. This government are Communists in disguise and the mask is slipping daily.

It’s good to be able to see progress being made in the fight to ensure harmful images and unmoderated content is removed from social media, and especially from children. I get weekly begging emails from Andrew Torba, the white supremacist owner of GAB, because his platform is being squeezed. Until recently I could provide a link which is better, because they are long and rambling, but no longer. So here is just a taste :-

“We’ve been here before at Gab. Last year, Ofcom came after us with the same heavy hand, demanding we comply with their censorship regime or face consequences. We refused to bow, standing firm on our commitment to uncensored speech. In retaliation, they targeted our international payment processor, who banned us completely. For months now, we’ve been unable to accept payments from any international customers, which has hammered our operating revenue. That money keeps the lights on, the servers running, and the legal fights going. We depend on it to survive and keep building.”

On top of that comes the news that X and Musk have yielded to the pressure and will no longer allow Grok to produce sexualised images of real people. Pressure that has come from all over the world, not just the UK:-

So as the USA administration becomes ever more authoritarian and dismissive of international rules and organisations it’s encouraging to see resistance is growing. Not just this, but the resistance of citizens in the USA to over reaching control is growing significantly.

The tide is turning. It may take a while to reach our shores but the winds of change can already be felt.

Don't get me going on BT. My neighbour 1 floor above renewed for £27per month (because I did it for her online) mine is up soon and they want to charge me £45 per month.
