Censorship and Social Media

In fairness I do think two tier kier has a point here about the grok AI generated images. But I also fear it maybe the excuse they are looking for to ban X.

So I think the X / grok team / musk need to get their act together and sort out the AI generated image functionality to stop people abusing it for the things they are using it for.
Politically motivated, without a doubt.

Looks like they have responded now and only paid subscriptions can access the image editing functionality.

Ridiculous!

So now you need to pay Musk before you can produce insulting and hurtful images.

All this proves is that X can move quickly if they want to. Free speech excuses are nonsense. To make sure that your technology, or platform, is not used by people to produce images that are regarded as illegal in any country that has so determined, is simply a matter of compliance with the law. Law breakers suffer penalties.

Exactly! X acted fast to comply with laws and curb misuse, which proves they take responsibility seriously.

Requiring a subscription with real identity/payment details attached adds accountability that free anonymous tools don't have.

It's not "pay to insult" it's pay to access powerful tools responsibly, while reducing spam/abuse from throwaway accounts.

Hopefully now the UK government can take action on other AI generated image companies.

That’s not the reasoning I have heard from them, but if it’s true and they now start to remove any offensive images before they get posted, ban those making them and sending their details to the authorities for follow up action then that will work.

I have no doubt that the same standards apply to all.

Wow it must be painful to give musk your approval 🤦
