Car drove into Liverpool fans celebrating

In the original video on X someone is heard repeatedly shouting " kill him " at the car, that should be worth 31 months with no family visitation.

Ricky Jones trial August 11 th I think

The sooner the guy is charged and his details and photo published the better.
The local info I have is that he is white, middle aged, local, and was drunk.
As to why on X last night a photo of a young Asian man was being circulated as the culprit... well no doubt the originating account will be swiftly found and there will be knocking on doors.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were injured and to their families and friends who have been impacted by this awful incident.
There were surely others at the parade not injured but adversely affected by witnessing such a horrific scene.

I would make a joke that by simply being in Liverpool that everyone there was already used to witnessing horrific scenes but I realise now is not the time for cheap trite jokes.

So I second your sentiments.

It's lucky no one died.

so many car-driving attacking b...stards were declared 'mentally ill' within minutes of their attack. And also street-stabby terrorists. Even if there were a dearth of previous paperwork to prove this.

i bet it won't happen to this fella ?

They have to be careful he could have a wife and kids that could be targeted in revenge who have nothing to do with what happened.

perhaps the POS should have thought about that prior to an attempted murder on a crowd of fans.

sorry eaglesdare, but to follow your logic we would be letting every bad-boy out of jail.

What?! You're not going to say it so say it anyway.

Dear oh Lord.

Maybe I didn't make my point clearer. The bad boy should be in jail and key thrown away for all I care.

My point was say he has children and a wife we don't know the back story. The kids have done absolutely nothing wrong and seeing as the guy looks to have anger and drug issues could maybe abuse them and the wife. We don't know. They could be a target of people who want to get even over what happened. Who knows he may not have a family at all.

I'm simply saying to move/ protect close family members before releasing details.

I think the met police have handled this well apart from allowing it to happen in the first place.

being pedantic it was merseyside police. Only this bloke will know why he did what he did, all this speculation is pointless. Also in a city like this, if the story is correct, the road was closed and he followed an ambulance through the cones, not sure what the police could have done, very busy weekend in the city so they wouldnt have the staff to stand on every road closure.

Yes and it probably did prevent protests and false information. Although if the next one is an Islamist attack are they going to broadcast it was terror related.
Silence will now be seen as an admittance
that it is !!!

The police could have not let him tailgate the ambulance, just a thought

Another swerve by Slippery?

Being reported the driver is a company director who owns a nice house.

This will start a " have vs have nots" class thing so the victim mentality can start to get momentum

Well off man mows down less fortunate etc etc

What? How? Even is this is true this is a bizarre post.

Perhaps the “old school tie “ brigade are working on ways to help? Anyone notice that the horrible incident in Wimbledon a couple of years ago, has disappeared off the radar? Despite claims that the investigation was “flawed/ poorly carried out”

On 28 January 2025, the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Very much a live case
