Can't help falling in love

Was even worse last night. Felt like with the fireworks and everything the crowd were pumped, and that song is such a change of pace. Such a buzz kill
Totally agree….ridiculous thing to do. I like the song, not sure of any association with Palace other than chosen by a BBC Editor, but play it well before Glad All Over.

I vaguely remember 'Can't Help Falling In Love' at Selhurst way back in the 70's, and I really loved the sentiment behind the Wembley banner - totally get it. However it is so low energy it should never be played as part of the pre-match build up. Check out this version of 'Three Little Birds', most of today's fans would consider it a Palace song and this version would make a great pre-match song and get everyone going!

Sunderland play it before games.
If the song is so downbeat and de-motivating, how come they have successfully punched above their weight for decades?
....Oh wait

What a load of rubbish. I have been a regular attendee at Palace since the 60s and cannot remember this being played. Yes the Salvation Army Band, pop groups and stars, various US college bands and “Glad All Over” since it first played. Anyway the sound system wasn’t so great in those days and with open terraces you couldn’t tell. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was made up to appease us fans.
