Can't help falling in love

I was there the first time Glad All Over was ever played before the game, in the Mid 60s. All us youngsters were at the front of the Holmesdale, hanging over the advertising boards, which we banged with our hands on the chorus. Do that nowadays and you’d probably be electrocuted! Happy memories.

Lots of songs mentioned here have been relevant at the time, I’ll add Faithless Insomnia in the mix, with an actual Palace link. Glad all Over will always. E the one for me but I’m enjoying this becoming a thing.

Just keep Glad All Over! Thousands of fans know the words and it's got a CLAP, CLAP in it. And loud drums. And a 'reply' thing ('say you lovely me') Not vintage pop but who cares?

And here it is beautifully capturing our day, cup run and cup final history. But how did they know to use this song?

Yes, it was a brilliant montage at the end of the Beeb's coverage. They probably picked up on the song from the Semi tifo, but can somebody tell me who's singing? Not quite Elvis, but a good cover.

They've played We Come One and God Is a DJ as the penultimate tune before Glad All Over before and I felt like Faithless really set the atmosphere. It has massive relevance too. I don't see we we can't change tunes, I would put a vote in for a Faithless tune.

Although I love Glad All Over and hope it retains its position of prominence, I also love Can't Help Falling in Love. If the Powers That Be insist on ramming it down our throats, perhaps we could compromise and sing GAO prior to, and spontaneously during, matches, and CHFIL at the end...

The best version of CHFIL ever recorded was created by three American teenagers in a college dorm room in 2017. The guy on the guitar, Josh Turner, has acquired a massive following online. The women who comprised the duo Amber Taylor are (left) Taylor Neita and (right) Amber Ordaz. They're no longer a duo. While Taylor may still be pursuing music, Amber is a pharmacist (chemist) in the Midwest. 'Tis a shame, as her voice is one of my favorites in the entire world of music, Sissel Kyrkjebø's being the other. The club should fly Amber, or all three of them, to Selhurst Park if they're serious about promoting the song.

Love his guitar work there, playing an arpeggio and picks with a variety of sometimes tricky chords, whilst singing, and it's come out crisp. Fantastic skill.
