Can the women stay up?

When was we last in serious relegation bother? 😳
Generally we have secured safety with several games to go. However, there have been plenty of times when fans of a nervous disposition (myself included) have been sweating it out with 10 games left to go ( as we now have).

For example, last season, when were were defeated at home by Man City on 6 April and Luton beat Bournemouth on the same day, the gap between Palace and Luton was down to about 5 points and plenty of us were getting the jitters. Of course we didn't then know that the last 7 games would result in 6 victories and one draw.

I make you right Pete, as I said to the other fella I suppose it’s how you define ‘relegation battle’ for me it’s a season long thing, but yes every season really since promotion you could say there’s been spells where we’ve all started sweating a bit, but a serious actual real threat of relegation for a long period of time, imo it hasn’t happened yet. As I said before possibly the pulis season the start of the De boer season and pards did his best to get us relegated after a good start, but other than that we’ve definitely punched above our weight and have done a great job of staying out of serious trouble

After watching bits of the last two games on Palace TV the difference in class is obvious.
They try hard but lack basic skills and have no cohesion or a playmaker capable of holding the ball.
Back to the Championship where they can re-group and start again next season.
They are the Southampton of the WSL

Ouch!! 🤣

Answer to my own post after yesterday's defeat - no.
Tend to agree, sadly, especially as Leicester beat the south coast team today to go 6 points clear of us with a far better GD. Our only hope is of we can win our 2 home games against Leicester and West Ham and Villa fail to get more than 4 points in their remaining 5 games after today (they're currently 0-3 at HT v Manure).

PS there's no way we'll win any of the other 3 games - Arsenal, Chelsea and Citeh,

Ads on the billboards yesterday for Women's FA Cup Final tickets... £5 each. Says it all really. Could someone let Karen Carney know, she thinks sponsorship money should be split 50:50 with the men. Only on the TV because the BBC have no commercial rights for the men's game. Not a popular view amongst the ladies, but you can watch better football down the local park on a Sunday morning.

On the BBC 10:00pm news last night, there was as expected a lengthy item on Liverpool winning the league. After that there was an item on Arsenal reaching the semi final of the women’s Champions League.

They didn’t say a word about Citeh winning their men’s semi final.

On the wireless, scheduling pushed the cup game to 5 Live Extra as the league game got top billing.

As a post script (and also on the wrong thread), I know what day the cup final is but they have yet to fix the time!

How long has that happened?

Back in the days of Cup Final Its a Knockout, before the first kick of the ball in August you knew it was a 3 o'clock kick-off on a certain day next May, the Saturday after the league ended.

I am aware it has fallen out of favour, but having to wait for the TV companies to shuffle things around a mere weeks before the big day..?
