Budget 2024

Quite Willo. I rest my case.
In fairness to Ellen Wilkinson, she set up the Jarrow Marches to show government the plight of her constituents. When they blatantly didn't want to know - she became more pro communist. Her constituents were not far off starving.
Ellen Wilkinson stood up for the working class and is proper labour. This lot don't deserve to have pictures of her.

The 'OBR' have now set out unequivocally that there was no £22 billion “black hole” ' the pretext that 'Red Rachel' has relied on to justify her reckless tax raid. It was pointed out long ago that nearly half of the alleged fiscal gap was bred of choices made by the Labour Government to award bumper pay rises to their union friends.

But we now know that, against “a broadly unchanged fiscal and economic backdrop since March”, as the OBR have put it, Labour’s profligacy will be paid for, in part at least, by hiking employer NI by a staggering £25 bill a move the IFS has branded a “straightforward breach” of Labour’s manifesto.

Labour had planned these significant tax rises well before the General Election and shamefully used the '£22 Black Hole' as justification. 😡

Ellen Wilkinson accused those who criticised Stalin of ‘malicious inventions’ and said the allegations of persecution of religious people were ‘false’. She also consorted with a known Soviet agent and received financial benefit from her links to the Soviet Union.

Wilkinson, a sympathiser and defender of a mass murderer, bordered on being a traitor, yet is seen by 'Red Rachel Reeves' as one of her ‘leading lights’.

There are two sides to every story. If you notice, everybody loved Stalin during WW2. Then hated him, largely correctly, afterwards. Rachel Reeves is trying to give herself the labour credentials she clearly doesn't have.

I am contemplating marketing the Budget speech of 'Comrade Reeves' and the bland utterings of 'Two-Tier Keir' as cures for insomnia. Both Comrades carry no aura, no force fields of energy surround them.

I predict the 24/7 gym trend and business will suffer one day. People will think ‘fvck it, why bother?’
I'm currently doing the gym thing almost daily doing the 'old man rages against the dying of the light' trope.....it feeds my narcissism to lift heavy, better than feeling ill I suppose.

But essentially I think you're right, it's on a timer.....then again everything is.....including, hopefully this government.

Unlike the 'force fields' that surrounded Liz Truss - Misstrust - whom you voted to be leader of the conservative party. Lol. How democratic that was: a hundred - odd thousand people deciding on an unelected leader of the Conservative party. Still, not to worry, eh?

And then, to add insult to injury, any Good Morning Britain viewers have to suffer her lap dog Kwarteng as he drones on.

Now there is a cure for insomnia: a personality by-pass if ever I saw it. Good to see that Misstrust surrounded herself with sparkling, charismatic comrades, eh?

Oh, I know: "It's all in the past" I hear a chorus. Still your choice for leadership which just about puts the correct focus on where you're coming from, old boy.

They just followed everything that the media told them to think.

Most people don't have the time nor inclination to think for themselves on political issues, they trust the people they vote for to have their interests at heart......I know it's amusing.

Stalin is a good case in point.....'Uncle Joe' when it was convenient....even though it was known what he was like from the purges and his pack with Germany and then post war we get 'Stalinist' and 'totalitarian' and suddenly his gulags (which had been around since Lenin and he expanded) are focused upon.

Simple narratives for the populous who they treat like children.

Comrades Starmer and Reeves have 'Net Zero' charisma, as orators they are akin to damp Panatellas taking a while to catch alight and leaving an acrid taste. The types who are well versed sucking the energy out of a room.

Indeed the 'Truss era' is in the dim and distant past and the focus is now on electing a new leader to rebuild and revive our party and hold this wretched Government to account.I hope that the new leader is Robert Jenrick.

Hmmm....

Not as 'dim and distant' as you'd like, my man. I'll be a long time remembering how you voted for that woman over Sunak - the vastly superior candidate (of a bad bunch, admittedly) for reasons we can only guess at. True colours, eh?

Yet, for all that dreadful, pitiless, charisma - free shambles that you voted for all of a sudden charisma matters, does it? Amusing.

Those two are akin to a candle with a faulty wick that throws precious little light on proceedings and then gutters itself out leaving the putrid smell of smoke behind.

I don't care about charisma or personality as long as whoever is in office is competent, pragmatic and honest, whichever side they're on, and leads an equally competent team. The PM can be a charming, joke telling thrill seeker but it won't do us any good unless he or she is good at their job and has reasonable and implementable policies.

I have never advocated that politicians are judged solely on whether they are charismatic or possess the personalities of cardboard cut-outs.
However if I am unfortunate enough to be afflicted with Insomnia, I shall listen to the oratory of comrades Starmer and Reeves.

The Truss era and the leadership contest in which she was victorious is how history and I am not going to act as a 'Defence Lawyer' for Ms Truss.
We now have the opportunity to vote for a leader who has the courage and conviction to rescue our Party from the drama and the defeats of recent times.
Robert Jenrick has uniquely set out how he will address the concerns of the British people. With clear unambiguous policies he will restore the trust and credibility we sadly lost on too many issues.
We need to recover the trust of the electorate.

I concur with these sentiments.
Both Starmer and Reeves fail on all these counts.

Terrible budget for small businesses and I don't blame Labour at all, this is the fault of the Conservatives, who long turnt their back on small businesses. Its why Labour are in power, there was no point voting Conservative anymore.

Well, I for one will be very surprised if the Conservative and Unionist Party are not eventually led by NF and it wouldn't surprise me if Braverman wasn't his shadow home secretary.

You must see this coming, surely.

I wonder what your distinguished, erudite, fellow Conservative members would make of that.

Rubbing their hands, I would imagine.

The irony being that Rachel Reeves has a literal picture of a communist up on her wall in 11 Downing Street.

Starmer having been a member of an actual Trotsky group at and after university.

But yeah the Tories are going to be led by the NF......The Tories being the same party that bend laws to put Tommy Robinson in jail.

The 'National Front' are of course no longer in existence.
Apropos Braverman I have great respect and admiration for the lady. She is on my 'Wing' of the Conservative Party and is supporting Robert Jenrick.

No, not NF but Nigel Farrage, of course. I thought you'd know of whom I wrote.
