I've been doing some advance scouting of our next home League opponents, Brentford, and so far I'm very impressed by their display away to West Ham.
They should be 4 up on the balance of play and have had 15 shots.
Thiago is full of power and menace at centre forward and Outtara and Schade have loads of pace and skill either side of him.
They look particularly dangerous from throw ins and corners.
I thought they'd struggle this season with the loss of Mbueno, Wissa, Norgard and their manager, but not the evidence of tonight .
Mind you, they are playing West Ham!

If Brentford had gone in at the break 3 or 4 goals to the good nobody would have claimed that this did not reflect their overall dominance.
A dire display from W.Ham but I do not expect them to play as poorly in the second period.I suspect we will see a new W.Ham and I expect them to make changes at half-time.

Lost so no change !

I predict we will be too strong and tactically superior for Brentford.
We're due a win against them. We owe them one too after that opening game a year ago. Pretty sure we had a perfectly good goal disallowed and they had one given that should have been. I remember being really p*ssed off at the injustice.
I dont think we have managed to beat them since they came up but I do fancy our chances this time around.

We emerged victorious against them, 3-1 at Home, season 2023-24.

Every time we lose I'm pissed off at the injustice. And usually when we draw or win too. I love it, absolutely love it, when decisions go our way. It seems as rare as hen's teeth. The Mateta non offside with the crazy line was pretty good. Along with the Deano outside the area. Those were hilarious.

Brentford looking very good again, this time against Liverpool.
I envisage another tough game against them.
They know their strengths and play relentlessly to them.

I don't like Liverpool BUT they should've had a penalty, and Salah was a borderline red card not even booked. VVD looks well past his best. They wasted that money tapping up Isaac, who they really didn't need, whilst letting Guehi go who is an elite level player

Obviously I want us to win, but I hope Brentford have a good season. Losing their top players and manager is quite a blow and they have responded well
Outarra, Scade and Thiago will be a handful for our defence

Firstly I would suggest that Brentford were not expected todo much after losing a few "star" players but have proven everyone wrong, Thiago looks like a decent replacement and they still have Kevin Schade and Lewis-Potter. Palace will be out to stop the rot 1-0 home win. Hard fought.

apologies for diving in and being a bit self indulgent ... but ...

Im so looking forward to Brentford as its my first live game since 1990 (Cup final) as Ive lived in Australia, Philippines and Vietnam for last 35 years.

I used to go to every home game and a few aways between 1977 and 1980 when I was at School at St Josephs. I don't think there were season tickets back then - just rock up to turnstile with your quid.

Regular in the Holmesdale for all those years. I even have a great pic of the Holmesdale at the famous Burnley Friday night game when we got there about 4.30 after school.

For the Cup Final just gone, I couldn't get a ticket so flew from Hanoi to Sydney to watch with my son and the Sydney Supporters Club. What an amazing evening at 2.00am and packed by midnight. Yes, I did cry a tear!!

Anyway, managed to get a ticket for Brentford in the old stand (61 years old now so want a nice view and calmer experience) and so excited. Hope we all have a great day and so extra special for some of us.
