Canvot has received plaudits but he is only 19 and only experienced top flight football for a single season before signing for us.He was very much bought as "One for the future" but has become a regular and has shown significant promise.Just watched it through. Very good until 65 minutes. I would have taken the point before kick-off under the circumstances. Injuries to three CB'S is very concerning. I'll say it now, our once very reliable defensive structure is not filling me confidence 9 days out from the final.
Because of his inexperience and the fact that this is his first season in the PL he has made some costly mistakes. Yesterday he headed the ball straight on to the head of Ouatarra for Brentford's opening goal.
For their second goal he 'Lost' his marker who ran beyond him and flicked the ball backwards for Ouatarra's to head home.
Canvot has impressed with the ball at his feet, his physicality and his reading of situations but his defensive fallibilities have cost the team goals.
