Bournemouth match thread

Apart from Dawsons assault on Speroni, which went unpunished and resulted in a goal. He chose not to speak to Warnock after the game, which he was obliged to do, as he was going to an Ed Sheeran concert
Had Jules got a bleed on the brain and died what would silvertop had thought of Dawson's "not even a foul" attack?

It genuinely was life threatening.

Dermot Gallagher and the plethora of pundits form opinions having witnessed the action on television, free from reaching a conclusion whilst under the pressure of a fast-moving game requiring split-second decisions.
They were not hard decisions - which he got wrong. I actually doubt it were bias; more like incompetence. Then maybe some kind of unconscious bias after we vociferously complained.

Nonsense some of the VAR decisions given are far from split second. There is absolutely no defence or justification for Richards being given a second yellow and not Scott. Kluivert pulled Sarr’s shorts down “ bringing the game into disrepute?”, could have been a red? but Sarr also got a booking

I certainly do not subscribe to the allegation that the referee consciously made decisions not in our favour on account of some bias against our club.
I am not going to pre-judge the outcome of the after-match assessment of his performance.
Well, you're one of the few that think that way, but then after your love in with Clusterfuck Im not surprised......watch the pre cup final goings on with old rednose for proof

I don't know how you can say this on a Palace board. Trolling is one thing, but this is beyond the pale. Even Clattencunt himself said he cheated in his book
I can assure you I am certainly NOT "Trolling".
I have articulated my views on the subject of 'Mark Clattenburg' in-depth on HOL and I see no need to keep re-iterating my sentiments.
Such re-iteration will resemble a gramophone record stuck in the groove and I will now refrain from responding to the Clattenburg detractors.Thank You.

The Referee makes 'Split-second' decisions in a fast-moving game under intense pressure.
In the final analysis NO two incidents are the same, there can be nuances and whilst I appreciate the calls for 'Consistency' this can never be achieved 100% when subjectivity is involved.

There is no split-second decision about any card. The foul is committed, the referee stops the game, considers what to do, and issues a card if appropriate. The referee can take as long as he likes to decide on the decision of whether of not to issue a card. This was a rash very poorly judged (or even biased) decision that ruined the game for all the paying customers watching the game. Given the pitch positions of both fouls and the nature of the fouls, it is ridiculous not to believe that the Bournemoth foul was not more worthy of a second yellow and hence a red than the Richards 'foul'.

I have, not once, read a comment from you that a referee might, just might have got something wrong which leads me to believe that you will support all referees no matter how they perform or whatever the circumstances.

I accept that referees can give themselves some 'Thinking time' apropos whether to brandish a card but there are instances whereby having awarded a foul (Split-second decision) he/she has no option but to pull a card from their pockets.

Apropos you final comment, I have ALWAYS asserted that referees are human beings and as such will err from time to time.
Perfection is not in the human gift.

No point blaming the ref, more importantly we were crap before the sending off. The wheels appear to have come off Glasners wagon big style, no real injuries to fall back on. The form of key players Eze, Mateta and Wharton are a worry. This a big week for Glasner, Arsenal away and a Villa semi final, if we suffer heavy defeats in both of those games, the season of promise is over.

I didn't think we were too bad. Not great, but we didn't look like conceding and we were dangerous on the break. We mixed up set pieces and gave it a shot. Bournemouth weren't great, 11 on 11, I'd have bet on us to nick it.
They were sloppier than us. I'm finding I'm watching these teams fighting for Europe and lauded by the press, thinking they're pretty poor really. Anyone can be beaten this season - no one's actually great. Arsenal and Liverpool are probably slightly better than the rest.

They can also rescind a card if it was awarded in error.
If VAR is available then why not call on it in cases like this? With the vast amounts of money involved in European qualification and relegation it seems absurd not to try to be as accurate as possible.

I’m not blaming the ref because you’re right, we were poor before the sending off. But when a ref is that bad it has to be said whatever the result.

TR and Munoz held the wings farther back due to the 5 goal games we just had. Sensible decision as another defeat would have given us even less confidence. Arsenal away will possibly be a defeat but narrow by a goal or two will be acceptable in the bigger picture I reckon.
