Bilal El Khannouss

If Gallagher becomes our highest wage earner at his level of ability then that is going to agitate key players in the squad. As mentioned before, great first half the season in a different system for Palace but not so great there after. For the expected cost of transfer and salary, personally i wouldn't go for him.

But obviously the Palace internal team will know a little bit more than me about who to get and why for our system.
The way things are going that won’t be an issue as all the key members will have been sold. 😂

They sold him because he is not Champions League quality.

My son supports Chelsea, and he knows their team a lot better than me. He does not rate Gallagher.
I agree. He is an energy player, but his skill level is low.
If we could get him for peanuts to sit on the bench then fine, but we won't.

Not sure that logic stacks up since he went to another Champions League team...

I'm waiting for Atleti's £50m bid for Will Hughes. I'd imagine we'll be waiting a while.

Getting in the Champions League and having a chance of winning it are two different things.

Will Hughes is a better player. Chelsea are good at selling average players for big fees. Madueke and Havertz for examples. They have no pressure to sell cheap.

If you understood anything, you would know that.

Oh right, so most of the players who play in the Champions League are not in fact Champions League players? That’s an interesting definition.

Chelsea sold Gallagher last summer and didn’t even qualify for the Champions League last year, by the way. So Gallagher played in it, but Chelsea didn’t.

I think you only need to compare the careers of Hughes and Gallagher to know who is the better player.

They also sold Salah, De Bruyne and Guehi. They sold him because he was an academy player and therefore, pure profit, when trying to hit FFP targets.

Don't think there's a chance in hell he comes here again but the idea that he's not good enough is madness.
Not the current ownership.

Chelsea sell players for large fees who aren't good enough. They are very good at that.
The pressure to sell your better players at lower prices comes when you don't have a big turn over, like our club. We are stuck between keeping our best players, but also cashing in on them to fund replacements. Chelsea are on another level. They are greatly improving their squad.

So Spurs are full of Champions League level players?

You are the difference between making an argument and actually knowing what you are talking about.

Quite. The number of references on Newsnow to teams being linked with ECL players. A closer inspection reveals said players were not recent and regular starters for PSG or Real.

Just to confirm your statement, Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar played in the champions league this season 🤣

Sarr was a great replacement but is nowhere near as good as Olise. Be realistic... Olise was nominated for Ballon d'Or in his first season away from us!
And being realistic Sarr was phenomenal last season. No he's obviously not as good as Olise but we haven't missed him that much with two trophies since he left and Sarr being one of the main reasons. Need to get the Leicester lad in and pay the 20 mil before someone else does

Aside from the fact that they played a qualifier and lost… which means they didn’t qualify for the champions league, you’d hope the phrase ‘champions league player’ wouldn’t require this level of definition.

No, not every player in the competition would be described as such. Players for clubs who qualify almost every year and regularly reach the latter stages would be.

Olise is brilliant at what he does but Sarr in my opinion is a better striker and finisher and is lightning quick. What he lacks in the deft flicks, tricks and long range shots he makes up for with being quick and direct. Both great but different types of player.

One of our best players last season without a doubt and surprised no one has made an approach for him.

Eze is a different sort of player again and the difficult decision our management have is do we replace with a midfielder or more of a winger. We need to keep a regular supply going into Mateta but whoever we buy needs to contribute 10+ goals a season as well.

Olise is pretty much world class and probably £100 million if sold now. Sarr is a good Palace player.
Massive difference.

Yes, but we will Sarr will definitely leave a hole when he goes to AFCON. We need to get cover in….

Really worries me the lack of depth we have in the team, if we get some important players injured it will massively impact our season in all competitions 🙄

If we decide to go for Khannouss, let’s hope he ups his game, he’s only 21 so he’s still learning the game IMO.

Yeah, Bayern Munich are gutted they missed out on Sarr and got Olise instead. 20 goals, 15 assists, best dribbler in the Bundesliga. One of the stars of the season in Germany.

We did an incredible job to replace him with Sarr

I've read Bayern were so desperate to sign him that they also agreed to him having a release clause in his contract. Another injury free season and I think he'll have his choice of the supposed top teams in the world Madrid, Barca, PSG, Liverpool etc

Sarr has been a terrific purchase and although a completely different type of player has shown how his attributes perfectly match Glasners style.
