Timber is out tomorrow and Tomiyasu is out for a few weeks more.
Will Kamada tuck in to play alongside Wharton or will he use Lerma or Hughes?
I suppose it partly depends upon if Sarr starts.
Personally I would like to see the inclusion of both Sarr and Mateta.
I assume it will be Richards, Disasi and Canvot as a back 3.

We can only hope and pray he plays Hughes alongside Wharton. Leave Kamada at 10 where he's having good impact. Hughes will make us more solid and lift standards.

I very much like the cut of your jib, Sir. I detected a steely demeanour from PS and suspect some home truths have been hammered out since the weekend.

Any idea why Wharton was not alongside him? I wonder whether there will be / has been a change of armband, which I would consider a step in the right direction.

I think at £52 million for LaCroix SP was just trying to recoup the money we paid for JSL and hope that no-one noticed🤣

With Henderson, Timber and Tomiyasu injured, I feel like we should revert back to a team that resembles last season's as much as possible. It's what the players are comfortable with. Make Richards the captain too and let Adam just do his thing without the extra burden/pressure.

Personally i see us putting 11 men behind the ball and boring the ass off everybody. Cos both our attack and our defense are shot to shyte.

I like JSL, and he seems an honest, hardworking lad, but currently he just doesn't have much of a presence up top. Getting JP back in from the start could give us a big lift. He's not only a handful for defenders, but he's a big personality, and when heads are down, you need a character like that. I'd get JP and Sarr in from the start, and that might just give us some hope. It would also allow us to sit a bit deeper, as they are more suited to the fast counter.

Tonight should give us a big indication of whether the players are ready to stand up and fight for Sage.

I really admire your positivity and I really hope you are right but to be honest I came on here to see if anyone has posted about how deflated they looked at the press conference.

I desperately want Sage to succeed and I love Ty (annd know he isn’t known for his outgoing personality) but I thought the two of them looked deflated and slightly annoyed if anything.

I was hoping to see what you described and some influential leadership but it felt like a giant Gaelic shrug tbh ❤️ 💙

I’ve got to be honest I didn’t disagree with the decision at the time because Lerma is a DCM by trade and only really thought of as a back up until recently.

I’d hoped that Disasi had not got suspended and cemented his spot, that Tomiyasu had been fit and settled so that the two young centre backs were competing for one spot with Mingueza having played well enough to be a viable option there and Khalaili flying at RWB. Unfortunately that is not the case.

I’m not sure who I would have taken out of the squad in hindsight. I’d say Hughes as Lerma is more versatile but I think we’ll need Hughes tonight, particularly with Timber out.

I’d expect Lerma to play Sunday.
