Ben Chilwell

I dont know how the loan process works . Will he have to have a medical ? If so will he pass it or get injured while doing it .

Not a fan of this at all. Injury prone, hasn't played in ages and just pushes the problem further down the line.
Not ideal given our failure to land our prime target but what do you suggest the club should be doing? I would suggest that we don't believe the club won't buy any player just to make up the numbers - we don't have that kind of money.

We'll soldier till the Summer and try again. I would not be surprised if there has been a significant increase in the number of wing-back positions in top level football and I suspect there is a shortage of ones at a price we can afford that will be able to do the job in the PL.

Harrison Burrows at Sheff Utd, has played at left wing-back, at left-back and further forward.
He is a threat advancing forward and his delivery from wide areas is of high quality.

I'd rather stick with Mitchell and try Umeh if we must (Glasner mentioned this at the start of the season). At least there'd be more upside. I think Chilwell is a decent player but he'll either sit on the bench with high wages or replace Mitchell only to leave again in the summer as Chelsea try and hold us to ransom.

It's amazing that we are the only club helping Chelsea out with their 'bomb squad'. And not only once but twice after they have already taken the piss with Chalobah - at least he was partly at fault for one of City's goals last week. It is like we are in an abusive relationship
The only plus side is if he stays fit and supplants Mitchell in the team, re-emphasing the need for a proper wing-back in the summer. If Glasner stays, of course

I'm for this deal, he's an experienced LWB and he's only on loan, adds competition/cover for Mitchell, gives us more time in the summer to get a decent one in.
Which Parish will, typically, take full advantage of.

Looking on the bright side, if he helps the team finish a couple of places higher in the table, he will probably have paid for himself

I'm pretty sure he is not a LWB . I'm also pretty sure you are in a minority for being in favour of his loan move . I'd prefer to soldier on with Clyne as cover for Mitchel if needed and save the money for a permanent LWB in the summer . Just my opinion of course.

We should most certainly sign a player who has had his injury problems and has only played in 1 game this season back in September.
Gains my seal of approval !!!! 😀
🤣 Who was that 1 game against Willo ? Liverpool ? City ? United ? Do tell .

Chilwell is a very talented player when he wants to be. I am ok with this as a cover for Mitchell and depth in general. Key though will be an obvious one: IF he stays healthy.

Relax folks. Any match he plays in, and is net positive, is good for our season as a loan.

2 signings before the match tomorrow please.
