Assisted dying bill.

An early proponent of the bill. Should be named the 'Shipman Act' in his honour.....

Not the first doctor to kill his patients, previously John Bodkin Adams of Eastbourne was put on trial for 163 murders, the Nhs was in its infancy and the BMA leaned on the authorities and said that no good would arise from a guilty verdict ,so the Impossibly rich Doctor got off,He forged his way to a fortune.

Blimey.

The very old can be extremely vulnerable ....they can be quite wealthy but lacking family looking out for them and low on remaining marbles. It makes them prone to being taken advantage of by sharks in white coats or other coats....terminally or otherwise.

Thankfully extremely rare....well you'd hope.

Obviously in many cases family has died off but where it hasn't It's one of the reasons that fractured families are so damaging and you need sensible people in families avoiding that.....remaining in contact, even if it's a pain in the arse matters.

I get why some MPs have a moral objection to assisted dying under any circumstances.

However what I don't get or respect is the MPs who have implied that they might vote for it but that it is a badly written bill.

Those MPs are not being honest they know very well that a bill like this will go through many revisions as it works it way through 2nd reading, committee stages and the House of Lords. There is plenty of time for changes to be made to address their concerns and then there will be a final vote, which is when I would respect someone saying I can't support this bill be cause it is flawed.

Right now it's dishonest, like the Remainer MPs who claimed to support the referendum result whilst doing everything to sabotage it.

I wonder what the collective noun is for politicians.....probably up there with lawyers and mainstream media for being the most dishonest and disingenuous profession.

A 'shower' of politicians? Don't know but it sounds appropriate.

Protection of the patient, (I would think because I don't have any supporting information), from their greedy warring family members, who will attempt any devious measures to try and secure a bigger portion of the Estate
Less so in the cases where the patient has a bit of time to sort their estate and perhaps reduce the inheritance tax burden.
Families can turn into cunces when there's a whiff of money

Just spoke to a neighbour whose been told not to buy any green bananas and he brought the subject up. I wasn't sure how to reply until he said he was in favour.

Sorry it's a joke, I thought most people knew it.

Financial advisor tells his client he has a great long term investment opportunity.

"At my age I don't even buy green bananas"

My neighbour is terminal but has a good sense of humour.
Every day is a school day.
