Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match thread

Great pens from both teams until the last one :-( At least the second half performance was better, like Palace of a month back. Subs made the difference. As for first half?
 
That was a brave and committed display, especially in the second half.
Sadly it could prove costly though with the injury to Richards which looks bad.
The disparity in the squads make it an achievement to get to penalties.
 
I thought our keeper was great during the game but pretty poor with the penalties. He didn’t get within 3 feet of any of their 8 although until the end their keeper wasn’t much better. Very odd. At least dive the right way once or stand your ground.
 
Some great penalties there. Did notice that Benitez pretty much dived to his right for nearly every one of them but hey after how he performed tonight I'm not gonna criticise too much!

1st half was just awful and I hope Canvot confidence hasnt taken too much of a hit. Not quite sure why he was being played as a RWB in the first place.

Second half was so much better even though we rarely threatened. Pino is incredibly lightweight and Mateta seems to be a shadow of the player we've seen before.

We limp through to the end of the year then hopefully we can recruit some desperately needed reinforcements.

Do you really want missing the Christmas party just because of a penalty shoot-out?
 
Could have been buried by half time, second half performance to be proud of. Walter Benitez as a back up keeper is fantastic, no worries in that department, Deano had better keep on top of he’s game.
