Is this one of the toughest trips for fans to get to either of these clubs when the draw takes place on the 16th Jan?
Any tips would be appreciated please...

A quick google & (assuming that I have googled the right thing) it seems Mostar stadium holds 9,000 people & Sigma stadium holds 12,400 so likely we will get maybe 1200 / 1500 tickets for the Mostar game & maybe 1650 / 1900 for the sigma game -

With only 3500 Parish points I am confident of not going.

Getting to Olomouc is a piece of cake. Fly to Prague, Vienna, Krakow or maybe other places and catch a train.

Getting to Mostar is not. There is only one feasible train a day from Sarajevo and that's early morning. Getting the bus from Split is a good option, although time-consuming.

I presume both have political factions amongst their fans? I also hope they won't be too bothered about us and think we're just Crystal Palace and we're a bit of fun. But the news of trouble could have easily spread and sent entirely the wrong message. The political ultras of these clubs could be out looking for us. I note these type of teams tend to be either ultra right or ultra left wing, with an ethnic, race and religion aspect in the former Yugoslav states.

looks most inviting, maybe the home fans will throw raw meat at us to keep us pacified, may have been designed with Serbian supporters in mind, keep your fingers crossed for Olomouc - and it's pronounced olomOATS - and I have this on the highest authority because I am half-Czech and the second, third and fourth letters of my surname are 'ouc' - so 'oats' as in Quakers if you please.🙂

I wanted to point out that the correct name is Olmütz. But I will refrain from doing so, because I don't want to get defenestrated on my next visit to Prague, as happened to some of us a few hundred years ago when they insisted on similar trifles. 😀

Prague off. I have family in Lundendorf (Břeclav) and Brünn (Brno - where Bren guns were made - by Czechs) so I might be able to wangle some cheap accommodation. On behalf of the Czech nation I would like to thank you for your schnitzels, sauerkraut and dumplings which we took to our hearts and stomachs but I regret the inclusion of Roman Catholicism into the package.

and we never insisted on trifles, that is an English abomination.

Passed Brno a month ago on our way to Dresden. Best import from Brno was Rene Wagner, who joined Rapid Vienna from Boby Brno and was their main striker for nearly a decade in the late 90s. Not to forget the Staroborno, one of my favourites in my local pub in Vienna .....

I dunno if it's a tip as such but I booked the cheapest flights I could find from Edinburgh (my closest airport) to cities reasonably close to Mostar and Olomouc while they were at their cheapest. I managed to get 6 flights for £120, but one is a 2 day flyer to Berlin and train both ways from there, and the other is 2 flights both ways to Sarayevo over 4 days, again with trains and 3 nights accommodation.

My thought process at the time was that by the time the 16th rolls around, the flights would probably have doubled but Im not sure if they have yet with it being wintertime. Have managed to get to all the European aways so far trying to do it on the cheap as much as possible. Got in the away end at Fredrikstad and Lublin, but could only get in the home end for Strasbourg and Shelbourne.

That’s definitely a good option and way of doing it. I had a few cheap flights booked for Strasbourg (via Stuttgart) and just took the option I wanted on the day. The fact you have secured return flights for whoever we draw for £120 is excellent. It’s also a bonus for you that you were in the home section at Strasbourg and not the away! We couldn’t see a great deal from the away section, then got kept in the stadium and car park for ages and then sent on a mystery tour the complete opposite way we needed to go.

Yeah I've heard a few people saying that it wasnt the best experience ever in there with some heavy handed policing thrown in as well. I think I was a bit lucky afterwards, I just walked to the tram stop away from the city end of the stadium and got straight on there going back towards Strasbourg. The next stop looked like carnage though.

So the draw is at 1pm on Friday and is streamed on the f*ck UEFA website apparently. Financially I'm hoping we get the Czech team but if it's Mostar that will really be a mission. I'm lucky (can't say that often) that I work on the railway and we get these things called FIP vouchers which give us free 4 x 48hr passes valid for most countries in Europe. I'd never really used them before this season due to Palace being perennially s***, but they are really handy for these short European trips, especially with limited connections.
