Surely they'd only be plastic Paddies if they were playing for Ireland having been born in England? As it is they've played for the country of their birth.

True. But in all cases "the country of their birth" is spoiled for top talent. England, france, netherlands. Spoilt rotten.

Meanwhile Nigeria/senegal/Algeria.... fields a weak team. Thus a boring predictable World cup.
