Alton Towers to remove disability pass for people with ADHD and anxiety

Location

Country
Wales
"Alton Towers will not allow some people with conditions like autism, ADHD and anxiety to use their disability queuing system this February half-term.
Merlin Entertainments provides a ride access pass to help visitors to its theme parks who have a difficulty queuing because of their disability or medical needs.
They say the number of people requesting the pass has been increasing, adding that disabled visitors have said the system "simply isn't working for them" and that "queue times for these guests have increased".

Unfortunately, Alton Towers are finding too many people are claiming disability benefits. (shock) 😱

I think we all know this is happening. It's vey difficult to call people out on it. (I am currently registered disabled) I recently went to a concert where the front row was for people with disabilities, A man walked in slowly with crutches and took his seat. 10 minutes before the show started , I saw him walking to his seat (without crutches), carrying a tray of beer. As the concert ended, some 90 minutes later, he was dancing in front of the stage with other people who'd left their walking sticks by their seats. There is no denying the urine is being extracted on a massive scale with this. These fraudsters need weeding out, then it should make things a lot easier for people with proper disabilities.

Disney world had the same problem and I think also did the same. There was a bit of a hooha about it and it may be that they moved to online booking with a restriction on the number of relevant disabilities. The ‘hidden’ disabilities were the problem, although each year we noticed the number of wheelchairs increasing.

I used to work with a bloke who went to Disney Florida every year, and he used to take his non-verbal, disabled mother-in-law with him just so he, the wife and daughter could all get in the disabled queue with her.

He used to say that the MIL was terrified of roller coasters, but because she couldn't talk, nobody at the park knew.

I sheet you not.
