AFCON and the January 2026 Window

Seems like a nice guy and has a good attitude but doesn't score much and the second he starts to improve he usually gets injured. Can't believe we ever forked out 25m for him (I can't imagine any of the add on clauses have been met).

If West Ham offered us anything over 15m I'd take it as the longer he stays i can't see us getting anything for him. He's a good squad player but not someone we should ever have spent so much on.

I do like him. He's certainly looked to get in and amongst things when coming on. He's got decent feet and can finish, but is the type of player that would have thrived 10/15 years ago.

Personally I'd keep him. But if we could for example

Sell him for £20m + 5 add ons
Buy Johnson for £35
Loan Bobb with an option for £25m

We'd have a proper wide option and 1 who could play in any of the front 3 positions

Nketiah always seemed like a weird signing. He is not a man to play the lone striker role and hence he's rarely started up top. I wouldn't so much say he's a bad player, rather he's the wrong player for us.

He's going to Dortmund who apparently have agreed loan terms with Citeh. So, sadly, think again.

I do wonder which system he would suit Possibly an old-fashioned 4-4-2 next to a big man who can knock the ball down for him. Beyond that, I'm struggling to see where he fits in.

and replace him with whom
Well if Johnson was joining then he'd start ahead of him and I think Uche offers us more physicality and threat when he plays.

It's not that I think Nketiah is awful, as I said a decent squad player but we can't afford to pay 25m + 10m in add ons for a squad player. Pretty sure we could find a loan player who could contribute the same amount.

If Nwaneri is going out on loan, I'm not sure why we didn't try. I know it's only a short term fix but needs must.

I recall some yeas ago hearing that Nketiah could be deployed as a No 9 or a No 10.
The positives included the fact that he was exceedingly fleet of foot, was calm in front of goal and was an accomplished finisher. He certainly got a glowing report, but when I witnessed him at Leeds he was far removed from the player portrayed to me.In short, I was not overly impressed !
