39 Points , we are Staying UP , time to Prep for August in the Prem.

I don’t know that we are safe yet. Looking at our remaining fixtures it’s perfectly possible we don’t win a single one of them. I expect we will pick up a couple of draws simply because the opposition will get bored watching us and fall asleep. That will probably be enough but I think it could be tight in the final analysis
We are definitely not as safe as we think we are , 24 points left to play for and only 10 points above the last relegation spot . We need to start scoring goals .

Possible relegation for us has not formed part of any conversations I have had in recent weeks.
It will have really gone 'Nipples up' if we plummet through the dreaded trapdoor having been 10 pts clear of the relegation zone with 8 games remaining.

One more win gives us 42 points (Safety)

Five of our eight remaining games provide a realistic opportunity for 3 points, so who knows…we might even win more than one!

are you on drugs ?
Fair enough, I'll take that on the chin but I won't relax until, or if, we are still 10 points ahead with 3 matches to play. I've been through too much with with this love affair accross 60-odd years to to assume that we are safe. Can you really see where the next home point is coming from if you consider home form this season and the remaining 4 visitors? Newcastle suddenly cannot win at home but discovered how to succeed away, Everton, fine away record, Arsenal, say no more, and, West Ham. Any points will have to be gleaned from Man City, Liverpool, Bournemouth or Brentford. Maybe on the road?

Form suggests the battle for 18th spot will be between Spurs and Forest, who currently occupy the bottom two spots in the form table (last 6 games), with West Ham in 8th. We're currently in joint 5th spot in the form table, which doesn't feel real given how flat our performances have been.

Points per game (last 6 games):
Palace - 1.67
West Ham - 1.5
Leeds - 1.0
Forest - 0.5
Spurs - 0.17

Next Sunday's game between Spurs and Forest is likely to be hugely significant given how hard both teams are finding it to get points.

Based on how bad we've been in games following a European fixture, it makes you wonder whether potentially winning the Conference League is a blessing or a curse. I mean, obviously, I'd love us to get another trophy, but I doubt the club has the resources left to make the squad ready for another European campaign.

Tottenham will be buoyed by their result and improved performance at Liverpool, who were strongly fancied to emerge victorious.
I suspect Nottm Forest might be a tad deflated given their last 2 matches were at home, they lost 1 and drew 1 and never scored a goal in either game.

I’m still hopeful that Forest get relegated taking Marinakis and Textor with them. There was a brief period when I thought one of the bottom two might escape and the Weeds might go down too, but they seem to have rediscovered form. Sadly Spam look to be staying up and Wolves and Burnley are doomed.

Sounds familiar.

By your logic, only the top 3 in the league are safe from relegation.

Our home form is awful, but if we pick up a couple of points away, we're fine. (Although we're fine now...)

There is a warmth about mathematical certainty that has the affect of Horlicks (other brands etc etc) on a ghastly winter's night. I'm very much of the same ilk.

Well, he's right. 8 games left, 24 points to play for, Spam & Notts are both on 29 points. 24 + 29 = 53, Manure, in 3rd, are on 54 points. So, mathematically, yes, the top 3 are safe.

I'm bored today.
