Franca

Apologies - my IT skills are useless. The article I have posted makes an interesting read.

Reading between the lines - clearly Franca has not settled and wants to return home.

Perhaps it was a huge ask expecting him to settle in London? Who knows?

It’s a shame considering the outlay on him, but a shame on the human level, he clearly hasn’t settled being very prone to get injured can’t have helped. He is a long way from home, best he gets back there and has the best of luck.

I guess he's officially gone for the year now:

I hope for all involved that the loan spell is really productive for him.

Interesting that he was supposedly fit but Glasner didn’t even put him on the bench, unless he had only a slight knock.

Can't remember where, but I did read that we will continue paying 20% of his wages, which if I remember correctly are £500,000 p.a. So we will be liable for £2,000 per week.
If he stays fit, I hope they will keep him. He has until '28 under contract to us.
He never got over the line here.

Moving at such a young age, and then all the injury problems must have made life difficult.

Speaking to someone close to the club earlier, they said that it all take its toll on his confidence. This is seen as a way to get back on the pitch, with less pressure and recapture some form. Hopefully coming back like a new signing next season

I would doubt he would be back. More likely hoping that a Brazilian club will buy him after some good form and we get something back for him.

Yes that's the part I found interesting. Hopefully he gets some confidence and form back. Which means we'd either get a good player returning or at least a better chance at recouping some of the fee.

A shame it's not worked out so far.

Would be interesting to hear from your contact how such a high figure ($20m plus $4m add ons) was agreed for such a rookie who arrived with a poor injury history and indeed a serious back injury.
Notwithstanding the fact the add on fees (never triggered) were partly subject to him winning the Ballon d'or!!!
Call me a cynic, but I do question some of these deals in football sometimes and who exactly paid these funds and where exactly they were dispersed.
Dont forget, Textor was closely involved in the deal.

I thought it was a way to pay Textor off. A bit like Marinakis has been doing for Textor's collusion.
