Franca

Franca was a bizarre signing at the price. Hardly any experience in Brazil and, from what I recall, not ever touted as a phenom. Hodgson and Glasner were both reluctant to play him even when he was fit
Ironically, one of only two games I have witnessed live in well over 30 years was possibly his best to date. On as a sub v Burnley

He was a wonder kid on one of the old football managers lol

Crazy why we paid so much money it makes no sense when for that sort of money they could have gone out and got a proven talent in Prem.

I do wonder if they thought they could get him and later sell on for a big fee because rumors claimed he was being looked at by a lot of the big name clubs.

Such a shame his bad record with injuries. I hope this is a minor one but it doesn’t look good. I think it would be good to sign another or promote someone from the youth team and keep Franca around one more season to see if he can get passed it. He has had moments but really need to push on now and have more impact on the first 11

Perhaps the whole fee quoted 20 million could be a rise to that amount? Appearances, goals etc...i find it hard to believe we would spend that much on a signing from the other side of the world. It's never really been our MO

Yes to more closer to home championship players or European ones.

Make them earn their wages doing something else. Selling bottles of water with no lids in the upper Holmesdale for example. If you're getting paid thousands a week you're gonna work for us doing something.
I know this idea might not go down too well, but how about the club implement a policy that all injuried players are banned from shagging until they are fit to return. They'd be back like a shot!. We'd have the fewest and shortist injury list ever! 😆

If anyone wants to know how to police it, get one of the floodlights from the ground to shine into their bedroom and deploy a drone to keep watch.

That or a dose of bromide before bed.

Easier in some cases.

Another waste of space.

Offload him, Edouard and Nketiah.

If we are to have real ambition as a serious club, we just can't have players who contribute next to nothing.
I'd cut our losses and sign some quality.

£30 million Nketiah. £20 million for Franca. A total waste of precious money.
I agree with what you say, but Franca is contracted to 2029, I think he has real talent, but obviously no good if he’s always injured, Nketiah was a strange buy, doesn’t fit in with Glasners style, is like he needs to be in a pair, not happening under Glasner, as for Edouard he is crap.

Not many teams play two up front these days, and a lot of teams have got a striker who’s not first choice but struggles for goals coming on for a few minutes here and there in the second half
Everyone wanted a striker and we finally bought one, there was no point buying an exact copy of mateta to fit in with glasners style, because off the bench you need something different

I think bringing on a fresh battering ram with 15 minutes to go, would shake up a couple of tired centre backs.
Our style of play is so rigid, no point brining on a 9 stone midget.

Maybe do it the other way round then, start with the 9 stone midget and then bring mateta on to do the Fashanu bit😀

The amount of fanfare on the club website when he joined is now looking even more embarrassing.

I sometimes wonder who did Ferguson, Wickham, Doucoure and França's medicals. Was it just a case of cupping their balls and getting them to cough or did they do any other checks?

"This one will keep us in a job"

2 cm can be a lot 🤣 Seriously, though at 5,11 Guehi is small for a CD, not great in the air, compared to Lacroix and Richards, Riad is 6,2 if he ever gets fit.
