Palace v Liverpool match thread

A game of 2 halves!! What a game.
Thank you Justin Devanny for having the balls to take a proper penalty. The others weee total crap - please no more JPM or Eze attempts.
A deserved win.
As for the start, Liverpool fans across the board abused the national anthem and tried to drown it out. I’m not suprised a fee palace fans gave some back. Not our fault the ref cut it short. Your disrespect not ours.

Now I haven’t seen any of the tv coverage but I have read several comments on this forum and on Sky Sports.

I was sat in block 140 and had a perfect view of the handball. A flighted ball that was on its way through to our player and a raised Liverpool hand CLEARLY takes it away from him. Wtf is going on?! How can VAR look at that and say it’s not a pen bearing in mind what has been given in recent seasons?!?

it looked way more a pen than the one at Birmingham on Friday evening (which had proximity mitigation written all over it). Have the handball rules changed yet Again? Has the VAR interpretation changed for this season? Or are we just talking about yet again s*** VAR decisions ruining the game?!?
Watched the game out in Turkey. Looked liked a penalty in real time and replay. Rules keep changing

Thanks Phil’s barber. You clearly don’t understand the boos because you didn’t experience the national reaction to Hillsborough and the lies that were perpetuated by the government for 30 years before they admitted it was slander. As Londoners you have no idea what it’s like to live 200 miles away and be as irrelevant and distegarded as the city of Liverpool is. I’ve lived in both cities, I’ve seen it from both sides.

Anyway. Palace is a top club with top fans but Phil’s barber is a f***ing prick. Educate yourself you prick
You nearly had me until you played the victim card yet again.

Off you trot.

A great second-half performance and a great result. Huge admiration for Devenny stepping up to show seasoned professionals how to take a penalty under pressure. What a hero. If that was a Liverpool youngster the media would still be talking about it in six-months time.

My two big concerns post-game are first the injuries to Kamada and, especially, Guehi, and second how poor Liverpool's defence were. That latter point is my concern that Liverpool will now press harder to get Marc.

Liverpool have a lot of new players and it showed as the game wore on. Our team is settled, knew each other's strengths and ruthlessly exploited Liverpool's current weaknesses. I also think we maybe wanted it that bit more.

Now buy us some more players so we can get some more trophies!!
“press harder”? Do you mean they might actually put in an offer? Seriously for all the talk about Liverpool “being favourites” and “being close to signing” him I do wonder if anyone at Liverpool even has Parish’s phone number!

In fact we really need this to happensoon and the bigger fear is that an injury to Marc might scupper it all. We need to be spending that Money on 2 or 3 replacements so that we have a squad ready for Europe but the longer Liverpool mess us about the less chance we have to build a Europe ready squad. Same with Eze and Arsenal though in that case I do hope he stays.

I don’t think it was comfortably put away- - a foot off the ground just off centre?
I’m glad he did it, but Justin’s was excellent. Next penalty we get I would like him to take it.
The keeper was no where near the penalty so give him credit. Devenny is not a regular starter so won’t get penalties

What happened at Hillsboro was a national disgrace and cover up I agree and justice hasn’t been served for those lost their lives and their families. Don’t agree with booing the national anthem, you won’t get people onside. Ignore it but don’t boo.
